I finally saw it last night. Great movie. One of the best I have seen in the past year.
One of the best of the decade for me.

There are good and bad Arabs in the movie, and good and bad Americans. I liked how it showed how confusing friend or foe can be.

There wasn't much of a real plot development per se, but I got the point of the story -- which was to capture the confusion and senseless killing. That much I got. Which is about the same level of plot and purpose in the movie Gomorrah, which I also really liked a lot.

If anything, I thought the movie was relevant. It visually portrays the question of just what the U.S. is honestly trying to achieve in Iraq.
I couldn't have said it better.

Zodiac

It felt like it last 24 hours and not 2 hours and 40 minutes. One year after, two years after, four years after, one year after, ten years after, twelve years after, ten years after...give me a fucking break.

It could have lasted 30 and I'd know this what I've seen. I expected much more from David Fincher. This was very disappointing IMO.

I guess I pulled a Buck Futter and went with a crappy one.
Right, I guess that's my cue to talk about the last crap I watched.

Boarding Gate - Beats me how this ended up in the official Cannes selection. Story that makes very little sense (if any), miscast leads, shonky direction, ...

Fast & Furious 4 - I liked the first movie & was lead to believe that this was somewhat of a return to that. It wasn't. Pretty boring flick. With the acting on show, it's no wonder that (most of) the leads' careers are pretty much dead.

Also watched a movie recommended by Martin :D - One Missed Call. He didn't lie about it. It was horrible in every way. The unintentionally funny moments didn't even save this one.

Baby Mama - Really enjoyable & quite funny chick flick. I don't know what it is about Tina Fey, but she rarely does bad movies.

And am I really the only one here who loved Zodiac? Granted, it's a very slow movie, but I loved every minute of it. The atmosphere was just brilliant.

I watched The Blind Side yesterday and was overwhelmed. The movie is truly emotional and really draws you in. I don't know how much of the story is true and how much dramatised it was, but the story is truly remarkable and heartwarming.

I just wonder though, how much racist the movie is, in ja5per's eyes.

Agreed on both accounts. :p
