Am I the only one here who rates Hurt Locker highly?

Deneb, Aaron and Martin?
I finally saw it last night. Great movie. One of the best I have seen in the past year.

Well aside from the typical picturing of the barbarian Arabs, and the brave, gallant and selfless Americans:p, i didn't think there was any real story. It was clip after clip of that guy detonating bombs. To be honest i felt it was repetitive and boring
There are good and bad Arabs in the movie, and good and bad Americans. We had subplots of Arabs and Americans each wanting to kill their own kind in this flick. But I liked how it showed how confusing friend or foe can be.

There wasn't much of a real plot development per se, but I got the point of the story -- which was to capture the confusion and senseless killing. That much I got. Which is about the same level of plot and purpose in the movie Gomorrah, which I also really liked a lot.

If anything, I thought the movie was socially relevant. It visually portrays the question of just what the U.S. is honestly trying to achieve in Iraq.

Some folks in the military have come out to say The Hurt Locker isn't realistic. At least that's what they're saying on CNN.
And they said it shouldn't win best picture because of it.
Huh? Because we all know Avatar is a fucking documentary?? :andyandbarcelona:

The Road , Not bad at all.
Armored, The story is nice, disappointing ending though.
'The Road' is a very interesting movie because the director wanted to emit a gloomy, hopeless/doomed world (as the book suggests it is). The entire film is shot in a certain set of lenses (I can't recall the name) and lighting to bring on the the effect of this depressing, hopeless, endless struggle. It's a good movie but one word to describe how it feels is depressing. Not that the movie is depressing, but how it makes you feel because thats what the director wanted it to feel.

Zodiac sounds good. I'll probably go with that one but I doubt I'll watch it today.

Thanks btw.
Zodiac (2007) is a great mystery/psychological thriller  David Fincher is great at making these type of movies. Just dont get it confused with the 2006 film called 'The Zodiac' its not so great.

do NOT watch Zodiac! coma-inducing material!
I didnt find it boring at all its long but very suspenseful.

Thats a shame, because outta all those useless people, i like your taste in movies the most :agree:
i am not saying the Bourne were Oscar winning films but they took the spy thriller and gave it a good shake up,just look at how it influenced a re-boot of the Bond series.
plus i was never convince Matt damon could be a leading man before this series,he certainly isn't dripping with charisma but the role he played was spot-on

Zodiac sounds good. I'll probably go with that one but I doubt I'll watch it today.

Thanks btw.
Zodiac is...meh,its alright but there is never the tension that runs through Seven,The USual Suspects,etc...

what are you looking for?

No it's not, it's not even meant to be a Drama, it's a comedy.

It is really good though.
It's "supposed" to be a comedy, I didn't find that many laughs, but it sure is a good drama

There were a lot of suspenseful scenes in the movie imo the scene when Jakes Gyllanhaals character goes that into the basement was more suspenseful than anything i seen in the usual suspects. Its all matter of opinions anyway each to their own i guess.
