Same here and Mila is just :lick: and while she's kicking ass she's just

If you really wanna go loud and DUMB in a zombie movie, watch Zombieland. Had absolutely horrid expectations and finished off with a smile on my face.
Zombieland is still on my list of films to watch. Trailer looks amazing & I think it may very well be the kind of movie I like.

Is this a promise?
Kinky!

I know what you're saying and I partially agree, but you're too strict over it. I didn't see your edit at first, but Lucky Number Slevin is actually a very good point, for my case. Obviously inspired by Ritchie's work, but had it's own appeal, good plot and fantastic actors. It's no Lock, Stock but a very good movie on it's own. Just because something was inspired by something better, doesn't mean it can't be good and stand on its own.

I also think Hangover was a good film, for what it's supposed to be. Dude, not every comedy can be a Big Lebowski. Some of them you just take for what they are and try to enjoy them.
You appear to have misunderstood me, i imagine its me not being very cleary. I did not say or mean to suggest that because slevin was inspired lock stock it was a bad film. IMO it was a bad film because A. It wasnt entertaining and plot twist wasnt that much of a suprise, B. The director had an outstanding cast and he somehow managed to make them not act very well, the relationship that is represented between Lui and Harnett came across as extremely superficial as opposed to the characters falling in love which is what the narative portrayed as happening. I was really caught of guard with how disapointing the film was because the director (whose name escapes me) also dirrected Gangster No 1 which was a really really really good arthouse film.

I went in to watch 'The Hangover' knowing exactly what to expect, dude wheres my car in las vegas. What i did not expect was blatent racism (not as bad a Transformers 2) and self plagiarism from Todd Philips. I am not expecting every comedy to be The Big Lebowski, i am not that ignorant. BY the same merit i wouldnt expect every comedy film to be 'This Is Spinal Tap' (which i would recomend as one of the best comedy films of all time, IIRC it was in the 10 of the filmfour and empire lists of top comedy films) but what i do expect from a comedy film is too laugh or at least titter, which i didnt do with The Hangover. Anything that was original or funny about the film was put in the trailer. The Phil Collins skit is about as original as a transexual prostitute in thailand, and the rest of the jokes i had seen in his other works, mostly 'Old School' which remains his best film to date.

The pitch for that film must have been

'Right so woody harrelson wants a twinkie,,,,,,,,a he finds the teenage kid and he still wants a twinkie, but he cant find one and then they find some girls and the boy falls in love, and he stil cant find a twinkie and then they go to a theme park'

'that sounds amazing, WHATS THE USP'

'ZOMBIES......'

'oh'

So Jasper, what did you think of the Starsky & Hutch movie? That one was also directed by Philips, no?

I haven't been attacking his older films in any of my posts, just him stealing his own jokes and sticking them in a new setting. That film was alright , not amazing but a sunday afternoon kinda film (like kindergarten cop, although its nowhere near the greatness of kindergarten cop). The only major problem is the presence of Owen Wilson whose presence in any film is like a tissue thats been used hundreds of times and still not been thrown away.

The irony being the only horror films i like are Zombie films and Werewolf films. Fuck vampires.

I have about 10-15 zombie movies knocking about and i love them all. Especially the romero originals because as social commentaries they are just amazing. Which is why i was so disapointed by zombieland.

I know you haven't been attacking his older films, I was just curious. Because to me, that's funniest & his best film to date.
Road Trip & Old School were also rather good though. While School For Scoundrels was nothing more than mediocre.
And believe it or not, I still haven't seen The Hangover. Any day now, and I'll be sure to let you know how I feel about it :D

What's wrong with Owen Wilson though? Zoolander, Royal Tenenbaums, Life Aquatic, Wedding Crashers, ... Those are some fine movies.

When you watch the films dont take what im saying with you, im probably being bitter and twisted and i would not want ruin a film for anyone before they have seen it, just think it over after!

Not much to say but I disagree on both films. And Hangover was much more enjoyable than Old School, at least to me. But I don't mind racism in a comedy, so that could be it. :shifty:

Oh and Spinal Tap is awesome, that I agree.

Come on, is Shaun Of The Dead that much different? Simon Pegg wakes up in a zombie infested London, throws a few vinyls at them in his back garden and then proceeds to run around London screaming and killing zombies along the way. It's a horror/comedy, there's no two ways to go about it, really.

I'll be watching Saving Private Ryan and American History X today/tomorrow. I watch both movies but it was really long time ago, I don't really remember so I'll refresh it.

The Wedding Date, not a masterpiece no doubt but enjoyable, it's a nice movie for ladies by a lady director! liked the movie maybe because of the English countryside that was stunning indeed, sweet houses and lovely green views:toast:

Hmmm, I watched that movie myself a while back :shifty:
Before you people start questioning my gender though, I should point out that I didn't really like it that much.

Then again, I do enjoy watching Will & Grace, so there may be something very wrong with me after all...
