Camo commits to Juve Monday 22 January, 2007

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mauro Camoranesi will stay at Juventus if the club show enough ambition this summer, according to his agent.

The Argentine-born midfielder was courted by Lyon and Valencia last summer, but the Bianconeri insisted that he remained at the club in Serie B.

Now it appears as though there’s a good chance he will remain in Turin for a few years more – if they can match his ambitions.

“We have an excellent relationship with Juve’s current management. All doors are open, starting with sporting director Alessio Secco,” said the agent to Teleradiostereo Sport.

“We are aware that the club suffered serious financial losses, but we also know that the return to Serie A will mean that there will be heavy investment in the squad.

“If that is the case, Camoranesi is ready to stay, as he already proved in the summer when deciding to help the club fight for promotion,” concluded the agent.

The world champion is one of several key players who have yet to decide their future, as David Trezeguet and Gianluigi Buffon are also unsure of what will happen next year.

I'd like Camo to stay. Having players that are used to working together as part of a team is an advantage. So it would be good for Juve to have players like him, Gigi etc to stay. When you keep buying lots of new players, there is no/very little consistency within the team. We are rumoured to be after an awful lot of players, but IMHO we do not need many to make the club competitive in serie A.

:agree:i agree 100% if we can keep the skeleton of our team with those key players then we should be good to go once we are back in A
