Of course they improved from the time of the fat Spanish waiter. Benítez turned into a clown years ago. They still won some cup trophies under Benítez, which is important at a club that doesn’t win fuck all, but they were a better team under Sarri. Small clubs can utilize a manager like Maurizio who can drill a rigid system into place like his and never vary from it, focus on a single competition and a select small group of players to outperform the individual pieces. This rarely, if ever, works at a big club with bigger goals and a broader focus.
Most of us who don’t like him here don’t think he was a terrible manager, just that he’s not good enough for the Juventus bench, not tactically, and even less so in terms of class and personality.
Anyways, he has every opportunity to prove us wrong over the next 4 months. I hope he does. I want us to keep winning regardless of my personal opinions on the chainsmoker.
