Diamond not working, there is no width.

Problem is that we don’t have any proper wingers. Cuadrado’s move to RB has been the best thing that’s happened to his career. Costa is never fit, and Berna is Berna.

There are a few options:

1. Move Cuadrado up the field and play Danilo at RB. This won’t work as well imo, as I think Cuadrado doesn’t have the end product to play as winger anymore.

2. Play 433 with Dybala and Ronaldo wide of Higuain. We tried this last season and it didn’t work. I do feel that perhaps Dybala could be a better winger if he’s playing alongside an overlapping Cuadrado? :boh:

4. Switch to 352, this is perhaps worth a shot, but Sarri has always been a 4 at the back man so this probably won’t happen.

5. Buy Chiesa in the winter. I am all in favour of this move. Chiesa has pace and can play either LW or RW efficiently. He is much younger and less injury prone than Costa. He is Italian too. Chiesa is probably the best player that’s attainable during the winter. Do whatever it takes to get him here in January, send Berna the other way if you have to.
I don't see Juve spending 70m+ in January.

Is there a chance to see Dybala behind CR7 and Higuain next game?
Sarri needs to find a way of getting them all on the pitch at the same time. Particularly against the kind of opposition we’ve dropped all our points against.

it’s a travesty that Dybala was left out today considering the red hot form he’s in. Speeds our boring slow tempo up a million when he’s on the pitch

I can imagine the job interview for Pep, Paratici's face when Pep demands $500 million in a midfield overhaul
Not a chance Pep comes here with the way our club is run at the moment, imo signing demands was the catalyst in Allegri's departure, he wanted a Treq and the club said no, now Berna is our playmaker
If we continue with this way of signing, we will continue with yes men.

You cannot have a idealist like Pep, or even Sarri and be run that way, imo the board should be 100% behind a manager in terms of signings, imagine singing Sarri, a coach who is known for wingers, and having 2 wingers in the squad, one of which is about as durable as a chocolate souffle

Sure let's buy another Italian that will turn out to be shit like 99% of Italian players today.

If we want a good winger we're gonna have to break the bank and go big.

Chiesa ain't no regular Italian and someone I think would be excellent for us because of his high workrate. The Fiorentina jersey does make it tough though, they will milk every penny from this transfer.

People here said the same thing about Bernadeschi. There are no great offensive Italian players today and certainly not wingers. We should look somewhere else.

We have an even bigger conundrum than Berna though, and that is our forwards.

Higuain and Dybala play significantly better with each other than they do with Ronaldo, but we can’t bench Ronaldo because he’s Ronaldo.
We shouldnt look to bring out the best out of every player though, because with our roster that would be nearly impossible. What we can all agree to i think is that a on fire CR gives us the best shot at winning the CL, so after setting up the defense next thing Sarri should focus on is surrounding CR with the mids and attackers that can bring out the most out of him. Still think Higgy is the odd man out then, with Dybala, Costa, Ramsey, Pjanic getting to start in a 433/442. Last man would be ideally a in form Rabiot, but currently Bentancur imo is way ahead

I like the optimism but this is not a CL winning team.

I'd love to be proven wrong but there is nowhere near the right balance in the squad and the coach is not capable.

What we have other than hope.

I would say with our current midfield issues, we can play on counters, no need to take the game to the opponent side. let's play on what we have.

let's play even worse like when Greece won Euro 2004, Morinho Inter, Morinho Chelsea and even Klopp 2018... PARK THE BUS and fuck the style ..we don't have the right players

Usually Im fairly optimistic about our chances but I have no faith in current team. Our defense leaks goals, our midfield cant create and our coach looks way out of his depth. As Ive said before my fear is we get humiliated against stronger EPL side or Barca. In previous years Id say 9/10 times we could beat those kind of teams but we look disjointed and out of ideas nowdays. Can this change until February? I also feel current group of midfielders arent good enough and some of the issues stem from this.
