Serie A alone it's 22-9-6 Pirlo with 73 scored goals and 37 conceded. Sarri is 26-5-7, 76 scored and 43 conceded. We will probably finish 5pts behind last season team, on a better goal difference. The drop off in quality was Max to sarri, not sarri to Pirlo
Ridiculous reading Sarriboi nonsense about how we didn’t crater in quality from Max to Sarri because he managed to scrape an 83 pt scudetto while getting embarrassed in every other comp.
We will probably win 78pts, just looking at Serie A and ignoring other competitions. Last year it was 83pts. Just 5pts less but with better goal difference. In a stronger league compared to last year. With a slightly weaker squad. Pirlo and Sarri are the same, switch them and the results remain unchanged

We secured the scudetto after round 36 last season, if you want to compare points directly that's the best point to do the comparison as the remaining 2 rounds in 2019/20 were garbage points we didnt pick up. 2019/20 we had 83 points after round 36, 2020/21 we had 72, imo -11 is the real difference in performance.
You might say Inter is doing better than last season and that's obviously true (although we'll never now if Pazza Inter would show up if someone put them under any kind of pressure) but at no point during the season were we even 2nd in the table, our best position this season has been 3rd and now we're praying Atalanta/Verona bail us out and we manage to squeeze 4th place. Claiming Pirlo = Sarri is just delusional, Pirlo isn't just a worse coach than Sarri, he's also a worse coach than plenty of other coaches that are worse than Sarri.

It's tricky to compare points like that because of covid last season. There is a clear before and after lockdown situation.

Pirlo has a better team too. Give Sarri Arthur, Chiesa, Kulusevski and Morata and he would compete with Inter.

i usually agree with your posts, but this is simply not true. give sarri arthur, and he's still a 60 minute player with zero stamina, kulu would have had the same steep learning curve, and morata always was a moody player, there's no guarantee that in a sarri team, he wouldn't have hit the wall at halftime of the season (which coincided with his virus infection btw).
sarri is obviously a more prepared coach than pirlo. but this team is way too imbalanced, especially in midfield. i don't see any coach being able to get 90 points with arthur, mckennie, ramsey or bentancur, especially not with this very busy calendar. even rabiot, our most fit mid can't play every 3 days and perform at a high level.
with sarri, we would have beaten benevento twice and we would have probably reached 2nd place comfortably. inda, especially with no european duties during the 2nd half of the season, was out of reach this season.

Garbage points? Sure, but there was no reason to believe we would have picked them up anyways. We were in shit form the entire last month last year. We won 2 of our last 8 matches last season. While needing wins to clinch scudetto. Which we barely managed to scrape because Sarri couldn’t get the team to get their shit together. 2 wins - 4 losses - 2 draws. Add to that losing Coppa final and getting knocked out of CL. It was an absolute ass end to the season. Given that, I seriously doubt we would have beat both Cagliari away and Roma if we needed to.
And lol that Sarri would have us anywhere near 90 points this year. The team was literally falling apart down the stretch run last year. The only good performances under Sarri were in the first 3 months when he was still riding Allegri’s tactical coattails. We were undefeated until December, Cl group stage + 14 rounds in the league. As soon as he started implementing his own garbage in December we were awful. Getting smashed by Lazio twice in a couple weeks, losing supercoppa in one of them, was the beginning. We picked up 47 points in the last 24 rounds, which is a 74 point pace over an entire season. Got embarrassed in Rof16 by 7th place Ligue 1 Lyon, embarrassed by Napoli in Coppa final, creating zilch for chances in 120 minutes. Even if I concede your last two matches don’t count point, then he picked up 47 points from the 22 matches after the 14 match unbeaten start. That’s an 81 point pace. Which is still abysmal.

Yeah we probably wouldn't reach 90 points but we wouldn't have be below 80 either.
I think many problems we are seeing with our players have a lot to do with the lack of effective coaching. Kulusevski looked much better at Parma, of course making the job to Juve is more difficult, but being played in many roles and always changing focus doesn't help. Bentancur was actually good last year, he was our best midfielder last season (not that it means too much) but now he looks like deadweight.
McKennie is certainly better than Matuidi of 2020. Khedira was a non-factor, the only loss is Pjanic and Dybala due to injuries. Looking at the players' profiles Sarri's game would benefit much more from having Arthur, McKennie and Chiesa. With these three players in the roles of his Jorginho, Allan, Callejon, it becomes more realistic to play as he wanted to. Not that it would be amazing, simply that Juve 20/21 is a better team for Sarri than Juve 19/20. As much as I dislike Morata, he is better than the current finished Higuain.
We have lots of problems in the squad without a doubt. These problems are certainly made bigger by not having a top coach though.
