Allegri sat back vs kimmich and alaba as CBs for 60 min at home. Thoughts?
Or you can see it as sitting back against the strongest team of that season and an attack of Lewandowski, Robben, Costa, Muller, Thiago, and Vidal. And yet, it required a massive last second brainfart from Evra and a huge ref error to get us eliminated in Bayern.

Just move on already.

gotta admire how some people see football

this one thinks that juventus played a game in a vacuum and everything happened on the pitch was the result of allegri's decisions. he either decided to sit back or he decided to attack, that was all up to him and him only. and it turns out that we could have attacked for 2x90 minutes, you just have to read tuz to learn the new gospel

the same people argue that conte won the league with estigarribia. not pirlo, vidal, buffon, bbc, marchisio, licht, but estigarribia

it's all about narratives, isn't it. just gotta have a judgment first and you can find the relevant facts later

It’s funny because I see it the opposite way. I see the Allegri folks and pseudo supporters taking every situation as a vacuum in a laboratory. The discussion always reverts to squad strength when it’s obvious the “coach” is the one holding the team back. Just look at the Salernitana or Frosinone matches, we conservatively for 85 minutes and then finally look good when we kick up the tempo. There are countless other examples of this. Sure, you can’t take everything in a vacuum, but if every single match is the same… well, you’re just flat out wrong.

I hate this kind of blanket statement.

Lippi between 2001 and 2004 was a sequel.

Ancelotti at Madrid is a sequel.

The Dark Knight is a sequel.
The second movie in a trilogy tends to be the darkerst so Allegri 3.0 will be his final appearance to send off his Juventus saga on a high and complete his arc.

Allegri the man who laughs arrives on our screens summer 2026 Rated R

Bye Mister. You had a good run for some periods, I thank you for that, but you also made the team we all love perform some of the most atrocious football known to man. On top of that you failed to adjust and kept going with the same Dinosaur stuff for way too long.

That is a failure on your part.

Wont shed a tear for you because your stubborn ways put yourself in this situation.

That being said, this departure for sure does not mean that the stone age mentality of our club will suddenly change. New challenges will present itself and i for one, am not hopeful that we will be able to reinvent ourself and keep up with the Elite clubs of Europe for several reasons.

The golden age of this club is a distant memory at this point and the problems of this club stem from a fundamental level and that wont change by simply changing the manager. I do expect us to be more enjoyable to watch tho, which is a small victory in its own.

I never understod why you rehired him, especially so shortly after you sacked him the first time.

And another strange thing was how he was allowed to stay on for so long, Pirlo and Sarri was fired for way less if we’re being honest.

Him not coaching for 2 years straight should’ve been a red flag as well.
Hiring Allegri made sense back then to bring some stability to the club, after all he had huge success here. Sadly it was clear pretty fast he didn't know what to do with a weak dysfunctional team, and he should have been fired pretty fast. The mistake was we gave him an insane contract, and we were literally stuck with him, a guy who clearly had no plan what do do with these players.

Can the mods (temporarily) close this thread to allow some sort of recovery for this forum?

Allegri is gone now and the debate about him has frankly been insufferable from all sides.

Agreed. But they should also infract anyone bringing him up just to stir up shit on the live thread or anywhere else for that matter. Then we can truly recover and move on.

the strongest team of that season who lost to atletico madrid (another defensive team) that season lol? why would a team coming off a historical season and on a 16 match win streak play like such pussies? Sitting back is one thing, refusing to counter attack is another. No excuses, this is a big club not a small club.

'last second brainfart and huge ref error' you sound like an inter fan. learn accountability

Easier to just leave this thread open so that the “discussion” can run here instead of polluting the rest of the forum. Summer’s coming and people are going to be bored. Things are going to be unbearable for a bit until we start the new season.
