With him we will continue to be a good to great team. But as long as we dont develop a clear attacking identity to combine it with our cohesive italian style, we will struggle to much agains teams with higher attacking prowess.

Its obvious we cant fill the team with top attackers like madrid and barcelona do... but our team is NOT average in attack. With a couple great midfielders and solving our fullbacks issue... plus a way better attacking plan...we could do wonders.

If we are going to be destroyed by the bigger teams we may as well have a different coach

Being defensive and still conceding 3-4 goals against top teams is useless, we may as well play those teams with no fear and an attacking game plan as we will be more likely to get something out of the game rather than waiting to die on our own sword

I somehow cannot recall at CL winning team that was not considered an elite team and beat the best at their own game, that's why I don't think it's a good idea. However I do recall teams like Chelsea and Inter grinding out victories with clear identity and determination, I think that's the direction we need to take, first step would be to get a functioning fitness program

Juventus are reportedly considering a 4-2-4 formation for Wednesday’s Champions League quarter-final second leg against Real Madrid.

According to Tuttosport, the 4-2-4 is one of two formations Juve could adopt when they try to overturn their 3-0 deficit at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The newspaper explains the first is a 4-3-3, with a midfield of Blaise Matuidi, Miralem Pjanic and Sami Khedira in midfield supporting Gonzalo Higuain and two of Douglas Costa, Juan Cuadrado and Mario Mandzukic up top.

The alternative would be Matuidi dropping out of midfield and all four attackers lining up, Mandzukic presumably partnering Higuain through the middle.

Paulo Dybala, of course, will miss the game after being sent off in the home reverse last week.

Antonio Conte began his Juve reign with a 4-2-4, but the top-heavy formation has since gained notoriety after Italy used it during their 3-0 defeat to Spain, which marked the beginning of the end for their hopes of qualifying for the World Cup.

So a good first half display completely negates that we got totally outplayed in the second half of the final and struggled to get forward as a team and put any meaningful attacks together

We don't get enough men forward

we don't transition from defence to attack with any speed

our passing is poor in the final third with a lot of overhit balls and sideways passing

Costa is not supported very well on the wing often isolated to do a lot of the work himself

Higuain is also isolated a lot of the times on his own and is not supported to get forward and break out of our own half just look at Tottenham match if you don't believe it

The movement of the players is far too static and unorganised in attack

I don't know what our gameplan is to attack because it doesn't look like we have one other than pass the ball to Dybala or Costa for creativity

Allegri is the coach it's his job to identify and fix these problems, he doesn't have a bunch of bums on the pitch by the way you describe our players and how his hands are tied

If he can't organise basic attacking tactics then what is he doing on the Juve bench?

No, it negates we were playing defensive, that it was our gameplan. We were outclassed in the second half but not because we played defensive, Real was just better.

We didn't have any of these problems in previous years after Allegri found the right setup. This year we had too many problems with injuries, players completely falling apart (Khedira, Marchisio, Sandro etc) and too many holes in the squad. I'm not acting like we have a bunch of bums, but it's far from ideal, midfield situation is particularly dreadful and Max is doing his best results-wise, but you can't expect anything special with this midfield. We played our best football in Allegri's first year and it's no coincidence since we had 4 WC midfielders.

Give this man a full and complete squad this summer, for the first time in 4 years.

there will be another game killers players and they will be playing for Barca/Madrid and if not, there is EPL teams and PSG who will snap them.
both Barca and real have a really WC to Top players in each position, it is not just CR7 and Messi. though I agree without those 2, both teams will be weaker.

there is no way around it, if we want to win in Europe, we must spend big esp. this mercato when we still have the appeal to attract top players, otherwise we will decline (or have to spend alot more) and it will be difficult to close the gap which will increase if we do not act.

What? We can say it's not embarrassing because we went blow-for-blow with Barcelona for 90 minutes. The first 20 minutes sucked as our players were very tentative, but after that everything about that performance was worth praising, including Allegri's tactics.

Real Madrid was a disaster. But it also doesn't help that the team just couldn't get their shit together. Players couldn't get their touches right, it was pathetic. Alves and Bonucci were 2 of the worst players on the pitch in that game. So let's not act like they were at their best in that match just because they were in previous matches in the knockouts.

And yes, I hold Allegri responsible for part of that, but it's laughable to suggest a coach who may have led us to 4 straight domestic doubles after this year, 2 CL finals, and has never been knocked out in the CL by a team that's not a clearly bigger team than us, while also coaching the only team to beat Real Madrid in the last 4 years, and also to spank Barcelona last year... it's laughable to suggest it's Allegri that is holding us back, considering Marotta sells half his star players each summer.

yes, they have a pretty much very good school and scouting.
at one point we were (or still) the club with the most loaned young players and struggle to remember anyone became a WC top player. I can only count Marchisio, although he is top in my view but not one of the best.

Barca introduced Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Pedro, Biscuit, etc
while all our players turned to be a Bojan Krkic.

Do you think there is a coach around who would have done better in the CL than Allegri since he arrived at Juventus?
