Do you think there is a coach around who would have done better in the CL than Allegri since he arrived at Juventus?
Hard to say... Maybe, maybe not. Maybe we'd have one title instead of two final defeats or maybe we wouldn't have got to play a final, let alone two finals in 3 seasons.

If it sounded like I was hatin' on Allegri then it came out the wrong way, cause I was not. He's done an exceptional job since he took over even after having his team (especially his defence) completely dismantled.

I have nothing but love for the guy but I can't erase from my mind what happened on that second half against Madrid. We were mentally broken and I'd like to know why as it falls down to a coach to make sure everyone is in the right mindset in such an important occasion. Maybe he's a great reader of the game but not so much as a motivator, and sometimes the latter can be more important at those moments.

There's nothing more to discuss though, he's staying and I'm hoping Beppe can give him the players he need.

This is not hating on Allegri, but I think that Simeone has done a better job than him in the past few years.

He has also reached two finals with an inferior team (just like Max), but he did a better job than Max in the finals themselves. Atletico lost one in ET and one on penalties. We lost both in 90 minutes.

So basically just one coach.

overall record of wins/losses probably no, Max has been incredibly consistent. is there a coach around who could've possibly landed a CL title with the squad Juve has had since 2014/15? yeah, I think it's possible that another top coach would've had a better luck in the competition, we've had a pretty damn competitive team. is it guaranteed? nope, but it's also not a guarantee that f.e. Conte or Ancelotti wouldn't have won CL by now.

Hard to say if results would be better but don't fool yourselves, there are coaches out there who would improve us overall as a team no doubt about that

Allegri is a results manager, if it means parking the bus for 90 minutes to get a win he will do it but in the long term he will not improve us and take us to a higher level

He will sacrifice it all for the result

Who would that be? Are we talking about "proven" managers with experience, that are actually willing to join us?
Poch, Tuchel, Zidane

Any of those 3 could get us to improve overall, a results manager like Allegri doesn't have a long term plan and a way for us to play

It's the same every single season, grind out results, get outplayed by any decent team who can hold onto the ball and try to nick the result with a set piece or a slip in their defence

Allegri will not have us playing any differently in 3 years time this is as good as it's going to get

Funny, that we likely have to beat Real in order to get Zidane in order to probably swap managers

You mean Allegri isn't able to make us play nice football like City, 2018 CL winners. Amirite?

Allegri actually said he'd like if Juve started fresh and young next season hinting he'd like to build something different, maybe your prayers have been heard

Patience Vialli, we are probably going to get owned by Real Madrid again tomorrow and then all these Allegri supporters will disappear for at least a few days. Then when we beat Sampdoria on Sunday, they will all come out of their cave again and pretend like Max is the best coach in the world again. :baus:

Do you hope we get owned tomorrow?

No, I hope we win. But I have zero confidence. None, nada.

Max has made the same mistake twice now of playing a 2 man midfield against them.

That’s  if true

I don’t blame Max for Juve’s lack of long term planning, out transfer policy is to blame for that.

If Max does stay, hopefully this summer we buy at least 4 players of his choice.

Here's what I think is going to happen. Last week, "Why can't Allegri be like Klopp?". If Pep manages to overturn the deficit (not an impossible task), "Why can't Allegri be like Pep?"

Pep won't overturn the deficit
