Caceras is not diciplined enough to be a cb. way too rash, just like chiellini. We need a calm player next to chiellini. some one like Cannavaro or thuram of 2005.

on the other hand caceras has shown himself to be a good rb. he looks comfortable there because he is not expected to shoulder the defense. and he can cross too
So what you are saying is that Chiellini is not disciplined enough to be a CB? :shifty:

I see no harm in having Iaquinta around. He a accepts sitting on the bench and we could also use him on the flanks if that was needed.

Not to mention he scores. The only way I would be OK with letting him go would be to exchange for someone younger and better (with a first touch) and IQ would be used to bring the price down.

IQ + 15m for Jovetic:snoop:

Not sure why we are talking about him in Crackers thread.

no, because chiellini is a one of a kind player. think about back earlier to when he started playing cb, he made a lot of rash mistakes, besdies putting on dominating performances.

Yeah, but someone took a chance at putting him at CB, and look how well that turned out. Caceres and Chiellini as rash as they might be are killers in terms of heart. I wouldn't mind giving it a shot in preseason. Grow some balls man:D

but why? he clearly is comfortable enough as a rb. if yo uwant to think about it, some one took a risk and played him as a rb instead of a cb and he has been successful there.

how about we invest in a proper cb like subotic or bochetti

Chiellini was comfortable at LB too. I am not disagreeing with you Lion, if we have the money to spend then yes, buy a new CB. If not, then it's a risk we could take.

Bocchetti is rather similar to Chiellini, in that he is pretty aggressive.

He wouldn't really offer the composure that the team needs back there.

We have 3 talented italian CBs we could potentially go after that would probably be around the same as Kjaer or less. I wouldn't mind another destroyer as a CB, and I think any of the 3 italians would bring us stability. Every defender makes mistakes, and the good thing about these is that they are young and will only get better. We gotta take a risk and build for the long term future.

You prefer them (Bonucci, Bocchetti, Ranocchia?) because they're Italian? :D

Haha not really. It would be easier to communicate with Buffon and Chiellini though. Italian CBs have always been some of the most dominant on the planet, I trust them more. They are generally tougher, smarter and more consistent IMO.

For some reason italian CBs are breed like race horses in Italy.
