I'm with Lion on this one, more or less anyway. There must be a catch! Southampton paid 15M for this guy now they're letting him go for 6 months for FREE?

Unless Southampton is the most stupid club ever, this is simply not a good deal for them. Form? There's a BIG chance he won't even start more than 5 matches for us until the end of the season. A WC appeareance in my eyes is not that good of a reason for them to accept a "Ok, 6 months have passed, we don't want him". There must be something we don't know. And something tells me we might end up buying him. Hope i'm wrong.
What? This makes no sense.

they dont want him cause he punched a guy in training. this is a good deal for them, they probably know that he was overpaid and are prepared to loose a couple of mill. they sell him in the summer and loose some money or give him 1 more chance during preseason. on the other hand we pay nothing for a forward who is capable of better performances than guaqz or gio, if vučko leaves, there's no problem with this deal.

like he did with Isla, Quag, Matri, Pepe,
He bought Matri in full for 18 mil, because Matri was quite good for us those first 6 months. 9 goals in 16 matches. And if you recall his second season, even though he only scored 10 goals he scored some pretty important ones. Like 1-1 Milan, 3-3 Napoli, 2-1 Udinese, and 2-1 Fiorentina. We also sold him for near what we paid for him. So... I'd say he was a great signing.

Quags cost only 10.5 million, and his injury really ruined the fantastic form he was in on arriving here 9g in 17. He's scored some very important UCL goals for us, and after 3-4 years if we sell him for anywhere around 5 mil I'll be happy with that move.

Isla is a disaster. I admit that.

Pepe was 7.5 million and has been injured the whole time he has been here besides the first season. Hard to predict that.

i really wouldnt be surprised to see marotta buy him outright in the summer, especially if he can offload at least 2 forwards or worse more if he sells one of our big names in which case this is a shit deal in the long run

Am I the only one that thinks Marotta uses Osvaldo's situation to force our attackers leave the club? After all everyone including him hoped Vucinic was gone and he's trying to get rid of Quag but he keeps refusing offers from what I hear.

Opinions?

but if he's using their sale to buy osvaldo in the summer then we are worse off than where we started
