    oh..
Well, I'll tell you what to do in case it doesn't work:

    1. Install libdvdread3
    2. Check
    3. If it doesn't work, then we'll need to get xine installed:

    sudo apt-get remove totem-gstreamer
    sudo apt-get install totem-xine
    sudo apt-get install libdvdcss2

libdvdcss2 decrypts encrypted dvds.. that might be your problem..

Did all that, still not working.

Why? With both Hoary and Breezy Xine worked out of the box. Or is the problem with this latest version of xine?

    Hey, congrats

I just installed Dapper on two systems this week, one of which is the one I'm currently typing this from. Have to say Ubuntu isn't really "human" yet, still requires some know how, but it's getting there.

    define big ;)

It sorta depends, if you had bugs in the last one and in this one you don't, that would be a big improvement. Otherwise it's just a refinement, but they keep adding stuff.

I just got the CD. Haven't had time to install it yet. Is it a big improvement on the last version?
It's more 'streamlined' if you will.. It's still the same goodness, only performance has improved (for me at least) and hardware compatibility has been given a huge boost, I've heard..
