Yes, I suppose so, but really we should be better than this. We should have a better squad than having to play a centre back in midfield, an inept right winger as a left back, and a striker as a left winger!

It happens .. Stam suddenly finds himself as rightback, Roy Keane as a central defender, Overmars alternating between right and left of midfield, Recoba playing as a left winger, Pirlo and Veron playing just ahead of defenders !!

I still haven't got over (nor forgiven) Tuesday's nightmare game, so, I shall neither watch or follow the game in any capacity. Surely though, we can't play as badly again.

Is common sense leaving Lippi's head, or am I stupid for thinking that we should play DiVaio up front with Trez ??

DiVaio is a striker, not a midfielder.

I think this 1 striker plan is a joke !!!!!!

You've forgotten it ??????

Being a "real" fan means that you expect MORE from your team, and wont accept mediocrity. It also means that your STILL hurting from the torture you went through watching that game.

OK. So the 14 hour round trip to Old Trafford watching in freezing conditions, singing til my throat was sore, not geting home til 3.30 in the morning and spending a sh*t load of money to go to the 2nd leg in Torino makes me a fake fan does it?

Go back to bed.

Hey Holden, I have the same feelings as you do bro. That game will be in my mind for a very long time. But I still have to support my team, because I don't want us to lose to Inter, the biggest losers of Italy!!!!

I just hope Lippi makes some changes in the positioning of the players for this game. He should give up on Tudor as a midfielder, and bring him back to defense. That mistake vs Manure:confused: wouldn't have occured if he is solely utilized as a defender

Sorry Martin, but I feel no one can question my support for the team. I usually don't dwell on defeats and more importantly, I hope the team doesn't either.

I understand. And I probably would react the same way from time to time. The main problem is that those kinds of things can trigger negative reactions with other people.

Serie A Preview: Juventus vs Inter Milan

BACKGROUND

Electric does not even begin to describe the atmosphere that will await the players at the Delle Alpi on Sunday when joint-leaders Juventus and Inter Milan lock horns for what promises to be an epic edition of the Derby d'Italia.

Sole-control of the Serie A going into the final third of the season is the reward up for grabs, though Inter especially will have plenty of added incentive going into Sunday's super showdown. A decade has past since Inter last won in Turin, five years have gone by since an infamous non-call by Piero Ceccarini - after Mark Iuliano had crudely brought down Ronaldo in the box - arguably cost the Nerazzurri the title, and it was just eight months ago that a cataclysmic collapse by Hector Cuper's side on the final day of last season handed Juventus the Scudetto.

Drama is as prevalent as sand in the Sahara whenever these two titans clash, the last time being no different as a last-gasp goal by Christian Vieri cancelled out what looked certain to be a 90th minute game-winner by Alessandro Del Piero, who unfortunately won't feature this time around due to injury.

Whether the quality of play will match the intensity is a matter of concern as both of these teams are coming off disappointing results in the Champions League. The fact that Inter (46) and Juve (41) represent the two highest scoring teams in Italy and that both have almost been perfect in their matches immediately following a European exertion suggests that this is set to be an absolute cracker, however.

FORMGUIDE

Juventus – last 6 matches (all comps): TWWLWL

It was only on Tuesday that the Bianconeri crumbled to a 3-0 defeat at home to Manchester United, though in fairness to Juventus the match wasn't as one-sided as the scoreline suggests. The visitors ruthlessly exploited three brutal errors while Juve were denied by the woodwork on more than one occasion. The month of February has otherwise been quite good to the Juventini, their only other defeat was actually seen as a moral victory as a squad that was decimated by the flu were unlucky not to have left Old Trafford with at least a point.

Inter – last 6 matches (all comps): WWLLWT

An injury-ravaged Inter side arguably did enough to deserve a win against Barcelona in midweek but the scoreless draw did not restore the confidence lost due to their humiliating 3-0 defeat at the Nou Camp. The San Siro side's domestic form has also been sketchy of late. A 2-1 defeat by Chievo earlier in the month was followed by an unconvincing victory over Piacenza last week, in which all three of Inter's goals were scored in an incredible three minute span.

LATEST TEAM NEWS & PROBABLE LINEUPS

Juventus: Former Inter coach Marcelo Lippi will only be missing two players ahead of this massive match, though one of them, Alex Del Piero, falls under the irreplaceable category. Iuliano will be inserted into the centre of defnese in place of the injured Ferrara, while Nedved, Camoranesi and Di Vaio will comprise a potentially explosive attacking trio directly behind Trezeguet.

Juventus: (4-2-3-1) Buffon; Thuram, Iuliano, Montero, Zambrotta; Tacchinardi, Davids; Camoranesi, Nedved, Di Vaio; Trezeguet

Inter: Hector Cuper will be thankful for the amazing depth of Inter's squad as Kallon, Morfeo and Dalmat have become just the latest additions to a power-packed disabled list which already boasted the likes of Crespo, Almeyda, Ventola and Emre. At least Recoba has shaken off a stomach virus in time to inject some much needed creativity behind Vieri and Batistuta.

Inter: (4-4-2) Toldo; J Zanetti, Cannavaro, Materazzi, Cordoba; Okan, C Zanetti, Di Biagio, Recoba; Batistuta, Vieri

LOOK OUT FOR

Don't take your eyes of this game for a second because the talking points are bound to come fast and furious.

Recoba has already proclaimed that he would desperately love to hit the net in this one in order to make up for his costly red card at the Nou Camp, while Di Vaio has gone as far as vowing that he will score.

Vieri failed to snap his Champions League drought and missed an absolute sitter against Barcelona on Tuesday but his two goals against Piacenza last weekend put him just three goals away from equaling his personal record of 24 goals in one season.

Trezeguet has yet to recapture his scintillating form from last season but a goal on Sunday would almost certainly serve to reinvigorate him. Batistuta, in the meanwhile, will be looking to prove that he has indeed refound his scoring touch after having netted his first goal for Inter with an instinctive finish against Piacenza.

Lest we forget that football is not all about scoring, we will be treated to a personal duel between neck-and-neck rivals for the Italian #1 jersey Buffon and Toldo.
