INTERNAZIONALE president Massimo Moratti believes Serie A rivals Juventus have set the benchmark for his club to aspire to.

With the two Italian giants locking horns at Stadio Delle Alpi on Sunday, Moratti is fully aware of the importance of the match.

Moratti claims the contest is the pre-eminent fixture in Italian football and has more significance than the Milan derby.

The Inter supremo also considers The Old Lady to be the Serie A standard-bearers and the club he judges his own expectations for success by.

"It's like a semi-final, not a final," opined Moratti. "Whoever loses will surely have more problems for morale than in the standings.

"Milan's derby has a big significance but Juve-Inter is everything. Juve-Inter is the history, not only chronicled, but because it is the sum of the charm of Italian football.

"More than Juve-Roma, more than Milan's derby. Not casually, is this match considered Italy's derby.

"For me and my family, Juve still represent the high reference point with which to estimate our ambitions."

Funny how Inter and it's fans feel Inter-Juve is the most important game whereas Milan fans feel the Milanese derby is the most important game:

MILANELLO - Carlo Ancelotti had also a word for the big clash between Juventus and Inter: 'I hope they will draw, so that we can gain precious ground on the head, if we win again Atalanta. The differences between Juve vs Inter and the Milanese derby? It's a different rivalry, Milan vs Inter is more exciting, you can hardy explain what you feel.'

So I guess Juve-Inter is the most important match because it's recognised as such by both parties!

OK. So the 14 hour round trip to Old Trafford watching in freezing conditions, singing til my throat was sore, not geting home til 3.30 in the morning and spending a sh*t load of money to go to the 2nd leg in Torino makes me a fake fan does it?

Go back to bed.
I wasn't talking to you in particular. The general theme on the board is that we are doomed from one lose. Sure, it was a horrible outing, but you don't say sh*t like "I'm never watching them again because they lost!" That's pretty much crap to me.

And, uh, you go back to bed.

You've forgotten it ??????

Being a "real" fan means that you expect MORE from your team, and wont accept mediocrity. It also means that your STILL hurting from the torture you went through watching that game.
I never said I've forgotten it. Read it again.

A fan supports his team through the good and the bad. Think of people who support teams in the English Conference or something. You think they go nuts and say they are never going to watch their team after a bad outing? Think of Fiorentina fans. Do you think they all jumped ship after they got sent down to one of the lowest divisions in the Italian pyramid?

Read my statement above. Hell, I'll repeat. Saying you aren't going to watch matches because of one bad outing is pretty crap.

That is all.

i have to agree with little D.

"A fan supports his team through the good and the bad"

"general theme on the board is that we are doomed from one lose"

But i don't want to make any more enemies so i'll keep the rest of my opinion to myself.

Trezeguet has to step up for tomorrow's game against Inter. After DP's injury, a lot of people placed their faith in him to fill the gap DP left.

I think he'll score tom

Cuper shuns Man U tactics

Hector Cuper insists he will not copy Manchester United's methods of breaking down Juventus when the two meet this evening.

Sir Alex Ferguson earned a 3-0 win in Turin midweek by employing Ruud Van Nistelrooy as the lone striker and packing the midfield.

“No,” noted the Inter boss, “I can assure you we will not play with one forward. Even a trident attack is not too much, it all depends on how they are set out.”

Alvaro Recoba has now recovered from a stomach bug and is sitting out a three-match European ban, so the Uruguayan is likely to start with Christian Vieri and the cup-tied Gabriel Batistuta.

The Nerazzurri are decimated by injuries to Matias Almeyda, Mohamed Kallon, Domenico Morfeo and Hernan Crespo.

“We are ready. When I or the team are in a difficult situation it only provides more fuel for our fire.”

There is some good news, as Turkish duo Emre Belozoglu and Okan Buruk are back following thigh problems.

“I need to see if Emre and Okan can play 90 minutes or not,” revealed Cuper. “The midfield will be a very important sector for me in this game. It could be the key to the whole encounter.”

The Juventus midfield struggled in the absence of the suspended Alessio Tacchinardi against Manchester United, but he is back for tonight’s match.

“I respect Juventus as a team,” continued the Coach. “They have great character and it is unlikely they’ll lack in aggression for a second consecutive match.”

Alessandro Del Piero is still sidelined with a thigh strain, but Cuper does not hesitate in naming Juve’s most influential player.

“We need to worry about Pavel Nedved. I think the Czech midfielder will be extremely important.”

I honestly dont think ManU broke us down. The thing that broke us down in that 3-0 defeat was ourselves. We commited so many errors and Manchester's goals were fed to them. They did not earn it. They just had to stay on the pitch and we gifted them these goals. It was really disappointing but I hope we can bounce-back really hard from this.
