Trezeguet, Giovinco, Criscitio, Diego, Legro...:howler:

Yes, he did a great job balancing the books and in the process losing us 30+m in CL revenue, finishing 7th with no hope of any kind of European trophy along with a fantastic coach in DN.

Fuck balancing the books, we need to spend.
Yea, man.

Yesterday’s board meeting saw the development plan approved along with the proposal to the shareholders for a 120 million euro increase in capital.

The club can now look to the future with even more optimism, more united than ever on all fronts. Both in agreement as far as the facts are concerned, and the words spoken. Andrea Agnelli and John Elkann spoke at the end of a significant day, giving three exclusive interviews. The President was interviewed by La Gazzetta dello Sport and Il Sole 24 Ore, while the President of Exor and Fiat spoke to Juventus Channel.

John Elkann’s statement was clear: “There is a great future ahead for Juventus. The plan presented is ambitious and aims to see the club at the top of the sporting world, where it’s been throughout history and above all where it will be in the future. This plan requests resources to build a stronger squad and establishes important objectives. We feel ready to sustain this route.”

A strong message to send out to the world. “A real development – admitted Andrea Agnelli to Gazzetta dello Sport – The response to those who thought that our family wanted to reduce its involvement. It’s been a fundamental day, extremely important for the future of our club. We’ve adequate financial means to complete an operation that I begun twelve months ago. I’ve always spoken about a first stage of quantity and then a second of quality. And we’ve now entered the second stage.”

Thoughts naturally turned to the team. However, the business conducted yesterday will also have a fundamental impact on the club’s finances. Agnelli explained this conception to Sole 24 Ore: “The objectives of the plan are to finance the investment of strengthening the first team and renewing the Youth Sector. And given that this balance will see us make a significant loss, a related portion will go to reinforcing the assets of the club.”

To contribute to the financial improvement, the plan wasn’t the only issue discussed. The new stadium, which will see Juventus become the only club in Italy to possess their own ground, was a key part of the discussions. The President elaborated on the topic with Sole 24 Ore: “Next year we expect to triple gate receipts from the stadium, around 30 million. The costs will also increase, but the margin will be very positive.”

John Elkann commented on the new stadium. Throughout the interview with Juventus Channel, the President of Fiat spoke enthusiastically about the new structure, without forgetting the supporters. “They more than anyone are at the heart of the club’s future, they’re an integral part. In this plan the involvement of our extraordinary fans will be greater. The stadium, the fantastic venue to be opened soon, will be a symbol of this union between the team and the fans. A union that must be stronger than ever.”

The team. The unavoidable subject at this current time. With the side a few weeks away from the start of the new season, the club is continuing to work hard to give Antonio Conte a top quality group to work with. A group capable of bringing new success to Juventus.

With John Elkann responded with a quip (“Platini’s said that he wants to award us a cup soon? Well we can’t let him down!”), Andrea Agnelli spoke more specifically in his interview with la Gazzetta: “There are the financial resources to get back to winning ways, now we have the right leadership on all levels, thanks to Mazzia and Marotta. Our recruitment campaign will be of high quality. We’ll look for people who know how to win, who have the right experience to complete the work started last year. And it’s something that has already been done, in spite of the transfer market being at the initial stages. I’m referring to Pirlo, a signing undervalued by the media. The truth is that Juve have acquired a great player. And others are on the way.”

On the topic of Juventus immediately being title contenders, the President responded: “Our objective needs to be to end the season with applause from our fans. It’s normal that Juve should always aim for the best and in this sense we’re not forgetting that. Scudetto and Champions League are the natural habitats of this club. Getting into Europe will be essential.”

Among the many subjects touched upon, Agnelli returned to one that has never been omitted throughout his first year as president: Calciopoli. Following the petition submitted to FIGC fourteen months ago and still awaiting a response, the club spoke during the course of the ongoing trial at the penal court of Naples, where they exert the civil authority. “Lawyer Giuseppe Vitiello’s words - concluded Agnelli - have been absolutely clear, both from the legal and factual points of view. In brief, the charges are unfounded. Whether behaviours liable to prosecution should arise, they would be personally ascribed to Moggi. However, we believe that those facts don’t exist.”
