Would like Robinho, much more than Saviola..... but saviola for free, isn't bad anyway! Is the Robinho thing just a rumour or realistic? Some months ago, I heard that he was on his way to Juve, but didn't knew if it was only a rumour?

Juventus chief Secco in Barcelona for Saviola talks
tribalfooball.com - February 09, 2007

Juventus director general Alessio Secco was in Barcelona yesterday for talks with Javier Saviola.

The Argentina international is free to speak with interested clubs as his contract has less than six months to run and met with Secco in the evening.

Saviola has maintained his priority is to stay with Barca, but has been made aware by Secco of their wish to take him to Turin in the summer.

Real Zaragoza midfielder Andres D'Alessandro, a close friend of Saviola's, recently said: "He's already told me he will join Juve at the end of the season."

Ahh, good old tribalfootball. :D

DD cools Saviola talk

Juve Coach Didier Deschamps has seemingly ruled out a Javier Saviola bid after insisting he can’t co-exist alongside Alessandro Del Piero.

The Argentine has been heavily linked with a summer Bosman transfer to the Bianconeri, seeing that there is uncertainty over whether he will sign a new Barcelona contract.

“I know Saviola because I coached him at Monaco and his value as a player is undeniable,” stated the Frenchman.

“However, I think his proposed presence alongside Del Piero in the same team would be a problem.

“You cannot field the two of them together because they both need to have taller players next to them.”

Barcelona forward Javier Saviola said that he will look at moves away from the Nou Camp should he be unable to agree a new contract with Barcelona, but in no case would he move to Real Madrid.
'El Conejo' is still uncertain about his future at the Nou Camp, and Real Madrid have been one of many clubs said to be interested.
However, the Argentine insists that he does not consider that as an option, as he could never betray Barcelona.
"Nothing is decided yet [on my future]," the Argentine told Italian media. "I will not betray Barca, that is for certain. I could not join Real Madrid.
"If I change team it will be for another experience to a foreign country.
"Barcelona are my first choice but I have other possibilities, mainly in Italy. I will wait to see the club's offer, and then decide whether to accept it."
The rumoured club are said to be Juventus, though Didier Deschamps has declared today that he doesn't consider Saviola and Del Piero to be compatible. :confused2
The diminutive forward is also wanted by Sevilla and Atletico Madrid, but his public rejection of Real Madrid might just push him closer to the Barcelona bosses.

He isn't the type of players that I dream of joining us. He is short, inconsistent and he isn't that tough. He can play behind strikers but we can't rely just on him to be burdened with the previous role. Moreover, we already have Del Piero, Palladino and Bojinov and all are capable to play well behind strikers.

I prefer to land Pizarro with a world class striker like Toni or Klose. :smoke:

I agree with the first sentance but I strongly disagree with the second.

He is not an inconsistent performer, infact he is often very effective when he's not scoring. Barca just simply opted to loan him out and make him second choice to Eto and the lot.

But again, Saviola never really failed Barca with his performances.

he only had two spells(recently) where he was playing most games. When he was in Monaco & Sevilla last season. Now i've seen a few games for him last season and he wasn't much better than he is right now.

if anybody has an idea how did he do during his time in Monaco then we could get a better understanding of how the "rabbit's" consistency. Cuz now i see as a very inconsistent performer.
