The US seems less outwardly racist, at least in official positions and general society, but that's hardly surprising as you're going to get either beat down or lose your job being that way. Proximal socialisation suggests there will be pros and cons with latent racism. It's all ignorance, either way. Probably not worth character assassinating someone over, just educating.

Not sure where in Italy racism is worse but in the US there are certain pockets you stay away from regardless of the color of skin you have. The US is so big you find a little bit of everything...racism against blacks some against whites now against Latinos...you even find some against trailor park trash regardless of skin color...you also see everyone living together in some cases.

But racism is certainly alive and kicking here as it is anywhere else in the world.

The US far worse than Italy when it comes to racism? That's hard to believe.

The FIGC's new president, didn't he make some insanely racist comment and still got the position, I don't see that happening in the UK or the US.

Because it's not true. The USA has as little social mobility as any European country. But we don't consistently state that if you fail it's your own damn fault. We acknowledge that socio-economic factors might complicate your dream.

Somehow Americans are indoctrinated by this idea that if they just work hard enough, good things will happen. Well, working hard does not mean shit. Sorry.

Is it becoming a millionaire? Sure, I knew a few here that came from immigrant parents and yes, they did work hard enough when things weren't working in their favor. I also knew plenty that being on the higher end of the middle class is what they wanted to achieve...nothing extravagant but having enough purchasing power to nail down that luxury car or take their family on an annual Disneyland vacation. Then their are those even further down the line that are straight immigrants coming from latin america or africa that are from straight up poverty and THOSE are the ones you see working two jobs to make a better living than what they had and get their children through school.

So yeah, you are completely wrong here. I see most members on Tuz from the US doing well and well on their way up the economic scale.

I'm enjoying my American Dream, I can tell you that. And yes, I do work hard.

It depends. I think there is still a lot of racism in all of Europe and I think it does negatively impact a lot of people. So, yes, I think it is a huge problem. On the other hand it's not as if black people are clubbed to death by the Ku Klux Klan in Denmark. The problem is there, but it's probably not the biggest issue right now.

Depends I guess where it happens. If it happens on the national level of course it will be bushed under the rug. But then you have certain people trying to scream racism when it was never present (looking at you Al Sharpton).
