I wonder if Muhammad ever had any clue that followers in his name would one day include nut jobs who behead others in grocery stores. Perhaps he might have overlooked the evils of a hierarchical authority within Islam knowing that...

See this is one of the things I talk about frequently with my wife about...I believe in God, the prophets, etc. BUT, if Islam was truly God, written down in a book, don't you think He would have seen this coming ESPECIALLY since the Quaran is supposed to transgress time? That's the problem with the extremists, they translate their book as it MUST be followed as it was back then, rather than in accordance to modern times.

It was foretold. The Holy Prophet (phub) said:

A time will come when nothing will remain of Islam except its name and nothing will remain of the Qur’an except its script. Mosques will be full of worshippers, but as far as righteousness is concerned they will be empty and deserted. Their 'Ulama’ (religious scholars) will be the worst of creatures under the canopy of the heavens. Evil plots will originate from them and to them will they return.

[Extra credit for those researching Islam: Notice he says "their Ulema"...meaning out of the 73 divisions Islam will see, only one will be righteous, and those would be belonging to him. ]

Also, it's worth nothing that despite all the bad publicity Islam is getting post-9/11, it is still the fastest spreading religion in the world and it's growing faster now than before...notable among educated single Western women.

my guess is the coalition to bomb the shit out of them, and the syrians/hezbullah to kick them out of syria on the ground, and then they get bombed some more as they retreat to either the turkish or iraqi borders.

Its a good thing several Islam religious leaders have openly dismissed ISIS and went over several points to prove they are going agaisnt the Qur'an with what they are doing.


I think thats very important to prohibit to happen there what happens here in west europe : Young adults who lost the way, usually became trouble, and seek to join a radical organisation. The international appeal to ISIS must be ended.

imo to truly end it, there needs to be an ideological first and economic second struggle against the 2 mains sunni radical forces: wahhabis and muslim brotherhood. It is obvious that their populist rhetoric has some resonance with some muslims, as exhibited by some members here. But as long as they are around, the muslims(especially in the middle east) will continue to struggle both with their image in the world and politically.

If u don't care about Syria then u shouldn't be choosing between the two. It's not like ISIS has done anything to threaten US! Maybe it threats the US policies in Iraq, all the investment in Army and everything else, is going down the drain.

I can have any opinion I want. Obviously I would rather have someone like Assad in there rather than a bunch of extremists. Going against Assad only destabilizes the region. Isn't it already destroyed enough?

The ones that accept the Imam of the Age/Reformer/2nd coming of Jesus Christ. Each to his own but I'm a follower of Ahmadiyya Islam so naturally I believe this sect to be righteous.
