Although it's nice to see Napoli attracting a player of the calibre of Higuain, if the rumors are true and they are shelling out 37 + 3 mil in bonuses AND 6 mil a year in wages, they ripped themselves off horribly. Just think, they could have signed Suarez for around the same sum and Higuain, although great at what he does, is quite a 1 dimensional player. I thought 30 was a stretch when Real told Juve that's what we'd need to offer for him, 37+3+6 is just downright insane.

I agree with everything in this post

It is a big gamble, so for their sake I hope they get CL football every season. Otherwise, I can see them ending up like Leeds United, a club that had a great project in the beginning of the 2000s, even reaching the semi finals of the CL, with many stars with big wages on their books, but missing out on CL qualification made their finances completely collapse and they went into bankrupcy and down the league system in no time.

If Napoli begin to splash out these kind of transfer fees and wages, they better make damn sure they reach the CL every season.

Leeds is an extreme case. They took out loans based on future earnings from the CL to finance signings. Napoli aren't doing anything like that.

Even if things turned out horribly for Napoli in this deal, it'd just set them back a few years.

They are in such a healthy finiancial position that it'd take an awful lot of hugely costly errors for them to get into an serious trouble.

Too much for Juve this summer, Napoli are a different ball game though and it's probably worth it.

I think Napoli could improve their squad quite drastically with the sort of numbers ADL has been speaking about. Definitely worth selling this project to the likes of Hamšík and Inler, Rafa could have the backing of a team for the first time in a few years as well.

As far as i know ,they've been posting profits in the past couple a years.

Maybe i think its time for them to launch some sort of crazy marketing plan or something.Although i would say CL football is still very essential for their growth.

Sometimes risk need to be taken if you need to make that extra step especially for a small club such as theirs who are aspiring to be one of the top clubs in Italian football.Even if it goes entirely bad for them ,they can still sell him for atleast 70-80% of what they bought him for.
