So you think naples could have Roony insted of Higuain?

That guy barely speaks english what makes you think he would go to GarbageTown?
Unfortunately it seems like the right amount of money will lead anyone anywhere these days...remember, just 5 years ago, City was fighting against relegation. Now we have Jovetic talking about them like they have always had a history of fighting for CL titles. I'm sure Falcao didn't speak much French when he signed on the dotted line for a team that isn't even in CL.

LOL to the GarbageTown comment though, that got me going for a bit haha..

You are in general very right, money is the no. 1 factor today but my only point was that it's not true in roony's case

The guy will never leave england, not even for real or barca

Arsenal mania "That's exactly why we're up ***** creek in the first place. Every ******* club overpays. Who the **** do we think we are? You can't fight the system and succeed. Either we join the club and pay what it takes, or continue to faff around doing **** all in the name of value for money. I'm sure once the season finishes and we fail yet again, we can again sit around proudly telling the world how our net spend is incredible and how we never over pay. There's nothing principled about what we're doing. It's all ******* bullshit to make yourself feel better for failing"

Least he's honest.

I actually agree with you there. I think he's comfortable in England and could probably only see him going to Chelsea or Arsenal had they ponied up the cash. I was just playing a bit of devil's advocate to get a debate going. Still believe they are overpaying in both transfer fee (by atleast 5-10 mil) and wages (1-2m).

Sounds like most of our fans before we bought Tevez.

I can understand criticism, but you do or you don't. Napoli obviously have a model, Juve have a model, and Arsenal have a model. They all restrict these sort of buys in essence. But if you can sell a player for €60m+ then you can afford to then pay €37m for someone.

Napoli is still really incomplete as Behrami is clearly not the answer to guys like Vidal, Cambiasso, De Rossi, etc. Not to mention their backline is absolute rubbish. Maggio has the defensive capabilities of a 1-legged man, Cannavaro is inconsistent and Albiol is about as good as Campagnaro was...which isn't very good at all. Zuniga is probably the best player in their back 4 and that's if they keep him.
Behrami is really good .

As much as i like Gonzalo,he ain't worth nothing more than 25m (right now) !
And yes Tevez > Higuain

There is no way Napoli can be better than last year or the year before with Lavezzi. They had maximum chemistry, determination and barely suffered any injuries. And they were still no match for us.

Now they have to start all over with a new coach and new players, who unquestionably will have less desire than Cavani/Lavezzi who are psychopaths and always healthy.

And they've elected to spend half their cash on a striker who needs service to help the team. He cannot carry them in any way like Cavani who scored like half his goals after the 70th minute.

They might have better depth but FFS, I saw the same Napoli starting 11 over and over the past 2 years and no one was tired or hurt so I'm not sure depth really mattered that much.

I don't think anyone would say they are likely to pose a major threat to Juve this season.

The debate is really more about what order Napoli, Inter, Milan, Roma, Lazio and Fiorentina will finish this season.

Signing Higuain has to push Napoli further up towards the top of that chasing pack.

I agree with what you are saying about team chemistry and the new coach/system.

No matter how good a team/squad Napoli assemble this summer, they are still going to be a largely unknown quantity and hard to make a prediction for.

Very difficult to predict how they're gonna fare, indeed. But changing coaches and bringing in lots of new faces can have a great impact for the better. Just compare Juve's first season with Conte and all the new players to the season prior to that one. So there's always a chance Napoli will explode and became a super force with the new coach and players. However, I think it's unlikely.

Napoli in terms of potential could become a much better team despite losing Cavani!
Higuain is a player that fits their playing style and there is still money left to spend!
HOWEVER Mazzarri is no longer their manager therefore I predict their style of play to change and given Benitez reputation tactics and mentality I expect them to play in a more defensive style of play!
Overall I think Napoli would be better in terms of players but weaker in terms of play so I`d say Napoli would be fighting with Milan and Fiorentina for 2nd place
