Yes I defended them which is why I said its not the same people who attacked them for penny pitching that disagree with paying 94M for a player now. We don't know yet if we paid the clause or if we agreed a different deal, but if it's 94M its definitely too much.

They know their financial situation and they know if they can afford such a move, doesent mean they should do it. This deal is a MASSIVE one, our anual cost on Higuain will be very high and could restrict us from signing some other players in the future. Higuain is neither a very popular footballer, neither is he young enough to have a resale value to make the deal worth it, or to play here long enough to cost us less Euros per year. From that perspective, this is the most expensive deal ever. Is that really justified for Higuain? I strongly disagree.

As for Cavani, the mercato is still going on, and even him staying at PSG doesent mean we should spend that much on a single player.

#1) Not EVERY player that Juve buys has to have a resale value. Since when should that be the emphasis of a deal? And I understand full well that if you spend 94 million on a player that you would at least hope that there is some resale value. But then again, if you do spend that much, do you ever plan on selling him off?

And although the Mercato is still going on, would you be willing to wait and HOPE that another striker the stature of Higuain becomes available, given that our season starts in less than a month? We didn't leave it late this time. Our roster is nearly all set, andif we keep Pogba, then all we need is one more midfielder and we are done with plenty of time to spare

Higgy is worth 75-80 mil easy. People talking about 60 mil are being retarded. He just scored 36 goals and broke an all-time record. He's only 28, and has a good 4-5 years left at top or near top-level and makes us a contender for those years while we search for the next young star number 9. He's a guarantee.

And FFS, this isn't about marketability or resale value. That shit is irrelevant. Especially resale. Clearly the board knows what they can afford and still be able to rejuvenate the team in coming years. They aren't sacrificing 5 years from now with 1 move.

Hence the moves for younger stars like Pjaca and Pjanic.

And Higuain becomes as marketable as the results he helps us achieve. If we win a CL with him or even play SFs or better for the next 2-3 years with him leading the attack he gains popularity and marketability.

I hate this resale talk. People talk about how we can't be viewed as a stepping-stone club... Well then, quit this resale value nonsense, because that's provincial, second rate club shit.

We're a big fucking club and if the board decides to buy a world class forward with guaranteed goals in the prime of his career, while overpaying by 10% ish, I'm damn happy they splashed the cash.

It doesn't restrict our spending. We all know and the board knows we are losing Pogba in the next year or two which will cover all of Higuain's transfer and his wages basically.

Aside from the fact we can afford to lose money on the occasional player.

And yes Higuain is worth 75-80 mil. The market has changed. FFS, Martial went to ManU for 80 mil with bonuses included. Sanches to Bayern for similar. These are unproven youngsters who could very well flop over the next few years and be worth peanuts.

Pogba is worth over 120 mil. Of course Higuain smack dab in the middle of his prime years at 28, having just shattered the all-time goals record in Serie A is worth 75-80 mil. Don't be ridiculous.

Well said mate. Our attack worked more than fine last season, and if I remember correctly, attack wasn't the problem in UCL. Allegri made bad substitutes (injured Mandzukic, and just bad Pereyra vs. Bayern), and our defence, impenetrable defence conceeded shit goals.
Both Mandzukic and Dybala struggled first few weeks of a season, considering that they just got into squad, later it all worked perfectly fine. You don't need a WC goalscorer if you score goals as a team.

Also, Gonzalo had awesome season, but first in a many years. I don't really know if he can pull that off again. Man struggled to score 20 goals per season in RM where he had Ronaldo, Kaka, Benzema and other amongside him..
And dude just has bad luck in big games, especially finals..

What you are basically saying is juventus should turn down the 100% chance to sign Higuain (untill 31st July) for a slim chance that PSG out of the blue purchases some striker (so they are 2 top forwards like last seasons), and that Cavani would be upset enough about it to leave PSG.

Higuain has scored at least 24 goals in 6 of the last 8 years. 1 of the seasons he didn't was because he only played 25 games. The other was his last season at Madrid when he was starting to be used as a sub for Benzema mostly.

So every season he's been first choice striker he's scored 24+ goals.

The only thing to worry about with Higuain is his big game performances. That's it.
