OMG, he's 28. But he's 29 in December, which means he's actually 30, which, let's face it, means he's about to retire.

MAROTTA OUT.
It's great that he born in December 87. If it was a bit later like January 88, Marotta would have to pay like 140 million euros.

Paying 94 million for a player is pathetic unless he is Neymar or Suarez. Club has done it in once in a century and it is for friggin Higuain. So yes, MAROTTA OUT.

Turk still going full retard, 5 scudetti, 2 coppas, and a CL final later.

Now Beppe has turned our front line into one of the strongest in football and still bashing him.

"Just pay them what they want"

I can't begin to tell you how many times I read that on this forum. Every single fantasy target, the outcry was "Just pay them what they want". And when we didn't, there was a line of people around the corner on this thread ready to bash him and management, calling him "cheap", "in over his head", "provincial"

So now, we go out and pay what "they" want for one of the top strikers in the world, and people are now saying that he is burning money, throwing it down the toilet. They are calling it irresponsible, with a long lasting negative impact on being able to sign players and maintain a wage structure that is conducive to success. I understand that 94 million is a LOT of money for Higuain. I get it.

But does anyone think that the board did not take any of this into consideration? That this was some knee jerk reaction?

We got one of the best strikers in the world.

If we keep Pogba, we are now one of the best teams in the world.

Even if we lose Pogba, we can get ourselves a very very good midfielder to come in, and with the additions already made to this team, are still one of the best teams in the world.

I don't get it. I just don't understand all of this.

Everybody mocked him because the common thought was that he would only buy players on "his terms".

So now that he bought a player on someone else's terms, the backlash is even greater?

- - - Updated - - -

And people like to have a good laugh when he says "Opportunity Targets"

Well, were there any opportunity targets out there for a top level striker?

I love you. Dearly.
I'm one of his harshest critics when he fucks things up.

But come on. This guy has built a powerhouse.

This team was still good enough to win Serie A this year if he and the board did NOTHING.

But these moves are to win the CL, which is what everyone has been screaming for.

I mean, where is the common ground here?

It's the same people.

Some people are just miserable, whiny, masochistic twats.

If we win the CL people like Turk will still bitch. There is always something for them to whine about.

I understand it when things are going terrible like how our mercato seemed to end last year and the start of the season... but right now? Pjanic, Alves, Benatia, Pjaca, Higuain... And people are crying about this?

Please

This board, that you have vehemently defended as much as ANYONE on this thread, without flinching, knows what they are doing. And you KNOW that they know what they are doing

But again, please tell me how Cavani is available.
Yes I defended them which is why I said its not the same people who attacked them for penny pitching that disagree with paying 94M for a player now. We don't know yet if we paid the clause or if we agreed a different deal, but if it's 94M its definitely too much.

They know their financial situation and they know if they can afford such a move, doesent mean they should do it. This deal is a MASSIVE one, our anual cost on Higuain will be very high and could restrict us from signing some other players in the future. Higuain is neither a very popular footballer, neither is he young enough to have a resale value to make the deal worth it, or to play here long enough to cost us less Euros per year. From that perspective, this is the most expensive deal ever. Is that really justified for Higuain? I strongly disagree.

As for Cavani, the mercato is still going on, and even him staying at PSG doesent mean we should spend that much on a single player.
