it is funny how the clueless around here rotate in their cries for something we (allegedly) currently don't have. after trezeguets exit everybody claimed "we need a poacher, someone who has goal instinct", after that it was "we need more creativity", then "we need more width" and now it is "we need the top striker". these are just empty words. we have the best "attack" so what do you think would have changed if we had that "wonder striker" ? would we have the uber-best attack ? we do score enough goals. if scoring 23 times in 11 games is not enough for you this season then you clearly do not understand football. in champions league we scored 4 goals in 3 games, so that ain't enough either, right ? what buggy kind of version of football manager do you guys play, that makes your team instantly score whenever you need it, by changing a striker. this is what you have to have in mind.

we will not ADD a striker, we will simply have to bench giovinco or vucinic and add another guy who hopefully will be THAT MUCH better, so that we do not only score as much as with Giovinco but even more and at the same time do not lose any of the characteristics Giovinco gives our game. i do not see the player that would give us this quality jump right now. if we get david villa and we play vucinic and him togethers you moaners will switch to your old broken record of "we need more creativity" when vuvcinic has one of his several "couldn't care less"-days.
we are indeed very honored to have such an all knowing footballing whiz in our midst, please remind us again at which prestigious footballing powerhouse are your services and knowledge applied?

@Virtu the MF has been outscoring the FWs, you cannot say that it isnt a glaring issue.
it is only a problem if you make it one.

it is our frickin' tactic to use mobile strikers to widen the spaces between the centre backs for our midfielders to run into and score.

what is the alternative ? buy a striker that is so immensely good that his sheer quality will have him score by receiving the ball 25 metres in front of the opponents goal, dribble every defender and score ? you will never have a striker that good who will do that reliably. if we would have a better striker in place of matri (in the games we actually used a centre forward) what do you think how many goals we would have scored more ? we probably would have scores 5 goals more this season (considering even top strikers do not score on 100% of their chances). how many more points would we have gained by that ? in the league ? perhaps 2 more points on a day where we drew but in games where we where outplayed (inter, fiorentina, shaktjar) we would not have won just because of one striker anyways.

we do score enough goals and buying a better striker will not give you instant "+10 goals" like in a RPG.

better look for your weak points that cost us points and that is the loss of concentration or quality while defending. de ceglie is a great example of something that should never enter the pitch of your stadium (other than as opponents player for teams like torino or chievo). scoring 2 against chelsea should have been enough, just like scoring one goal against a shaktjar side that dominated us. just one player would never have won us those games, because what chelseas oscar did to us is something that is nothing you can calculate with. it happens sometime that a player has a great day, but us having such a player does not lead to this player always having a great day when we play bad and need it.

we are top team in table, won the league and super coppa, and still in CL, and we are sinking?

ok bro, and by bro i mean never my bro.

P.S our problems extend beyond having a striker. main one being we don't have a coach.
I'll let the season unfold and then you can give me more expert advice.

We wont the league,no doubt. Super Coppa was a one match tournament played against another serie a team.

Sure we are in CL but barely, no one is blaming the results so far. We have a good team and a solid base, all this team needs to not get humiliated in europe OR possibly go all the way in CL is ONE quality striker. No one wants to win every single match, but what the point of tiring out players and play them in europe at all if you're happy with just being there?

Im trying to point out that one WC striker can make a goal outta nothing, can make use of the little service provided to him. We were one goal each from winning against Shaktar and Nordsomething, that striker would have scored it with the chances our "strikers" wasted and one goal was all we needed.

This discussion was never about the Inter loss.
