Instead of grading Marotta on the whole, for his job, lets break it down. :D

1.) GK Department: 20% max
2.) Defense Dept: 20% max
3.) Midfield Dept: 20% max
4.) Attack Dept: 20% max
5.) Bench Dept: 20% max

Total: 100%

Give your score for each department with specific examples for each and a brief one paragraph explanation for it.

Everyone here with an opinion can do it...then, afterwards we take the average of all scores and BOOM...we have a Grade for our SD.

indeed lucky you. you have been trash talking too much, and you think because no on says anything that you are being cool.

you are being a weak bitch. go be weak somewhere else
Sure thing internet gangster. You're so strong and your presence on the web is truly intimidating.

Now run home and get your shinebox

ha, come back when you have an original thought instead of what you heard in Bullshittery 101.
Original or repeated the issue still exists. Just because you don't like reading about it doesn't make it any less valid.

1.) GK Dept.
~Buffon, Storari, Leali
~Lowered Buffon's salary while extending it. Brought in a young gun that could possibly be the future post-buffon. Storari is the best backup in italy, by far. Give him all 20%

2.) Defense Dept:
~Licht, Bonucci, Barzagli, Chiellini, Caceres, Isla, Lucio
~Best defensive record last year, best in Europe in goals conceded. On track (until Inter game) for the same in italy. Licht is the RB we have been missing since Zambrotta, Barzagli was a steal that shut all of us up. Bonucci an expensive risk (not like Cronios would have you believe) but improving greatly. Isla, if we ever use him, will be a great addition to the RWB slot. Caceres came back a year wiser and has already gave immediate contributions, despite some Tuz'ers being afraid he would be a liability. Lucio for free, lots of experience and great for a 3 string rotation for a season. DC just isn't cutting it like I had hoped, no LB came...for all mention, and no LB I can't give him the full 20%...Total score: 15%

3.) Midfield Dept:
~Isla (also in Defense), Vidal, Pirlo, Marchisio, keeping Marrone, Asamoah, Pogba, Padoin, Giacherrini, Pazienza
~Pazienza & Padoin were a waste, but I believe Conte wanted Padoin? Vidal for 10m was a stroke of brilliance...Pirlo for free was even more so. Asamoah a bargain along with Isla. Pogba for free thanks to his super-agent as well. Giach a pleasant surprise for little value...gives (and at times takes). We have the best midfield in italy by far, hands down...one of the best in Europe but Pazienza and Padoin are unforgivable to me. Total Score: 17%

4.) Attack Depth:
~Matri, Bendtner, Giovinco, Quag, Vucinic
~His worst category and its quite obvious. Over 65m wasted since trezeguet left and still no proper goal scorer. Vucinic/Gio get misused in the 352, would be lightyears better in the 433. Quags good for 2 or 3 string. Bendtner was the cherry on top. No Dzeko, RVP, Benz, Llorente, Higuain, Leowandoski, Hunter, etc...but Bendtner. Buying your own player back for 11m is a bitch slap, but Gio will be good for rotation, so deal with it...mirko is great, but is also piss poor at times...First a WC Striker is needed, then an top SS to make both Gio & Mirko subs. Total Score: 10%

5.) Bench Dept:
~Last couple of years this was a major missing piece to the puzzle, especially when we were leading the league in injuries for 2 consecutive years. Our bench is much better...but still has players like Padoin and Pazienza...DC now IMO is on the same caliber. We can employ such depth as Isla, Caceres, Lucio and Asamoah along with Quags/Matri...so...Total Score: 18%

So question: Let's say he never promised a top player. Would everyone be happy if things were as they were now, with Marotta...without the promises?

Also, if a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to see it fall, does it make a noise?

And if we sign this top striker and he fails to deliver? Then what? Marotta's fault, strikers fault? Who gets the blame? Where to from here.
then we need more creativity, because gio is benched ! or we need more width, because pepe is not playing ... or we need more service because we do not have a left wingback ... it's usually randomly rotated

the same people who say that the top striker would have won us games in the champions league single handedly fail to explain how scoring in those game would have been guaranteed and how that striker with total different characteristics, would have not left us begging in situations where our current strikers (which we will have to bench for him) did actually produce.

so that top striker would have won it for us against chelsea and shaktar (in this fantasy world) if we played that top striker instead of giovinco, but what would have been with the game against udinese? we surely would have played that top striker instead of giovinco against udinese as well and now you guys will tell me that this wonder striker would have created 2 goals and one assist (remeber we won 4-1) against udine just like giovinco, right ? if that wonder striker has other characteristics chances are he would not have scored/assisted like giovinco and we would have drawn against udine. a draw in the second game of the league would have probably hampered our confidence and lead to worse performance.

what i am to say is, that the wonder striker everybody craves for would have to be immensly superior to vucinic and giovinco to bench one of them and justify spending big cash on him and i don't see anyone with that chararistics that is available.

we are searching for someone who can create, dribble, assist like giovinco (so we do not miss giovinco if he is benched) plus a nose for goal and physicality to impose himself onto the opponents defense.

to bad your football manager editors don't work in real life, right ?

just add some height here, some body balance there ...

Elaborate son.

I thought I had a good idea, but I guess I'm the only one.
I personally think our midfield can be rated as one of (if not) the best in the world. Marotta done a good job in assembling scalable talent that is comprised with both youth and experience.

I thought him being a black chinese muslim its the same thing.
Depends on what side of the tracks your from

Is there such a mix anywhere on earth?
Is water wet?

says the same guy who has been promising a top player for the last 3 summers
He wouldn't condemn himself like that now would he?
