Yes, it's a fact that Marotta's Juve hasn't reached CL yet, but at the same time it's also a fact that a lot of that has to do with the damage Secco has done. So what's the point in praising Secco?

Where or how did I praise Secco?

No need to teach me about what is or isn't a valid point: the only valid point in this entire discussion is the achieved results. Secco achieved them 3 seasons out of 4, Marotta is 0 for 1.

How's this for scratching the surface: Secco could have sold, for example, Trez, Camo & Chiellini. We could have played in Serie B for quite a lot longer, we could still be playing there today. Marotta could have done better had Secco left a more balanced squad. Secco just might have had a more difficult job considering what had happened. Marotta just might have a more difficult job considering the current state of affairs, ...

Nothing but could haves & maybes.


I base my opinion on facts/results. If people have problems seeing that up till now Secco's are better than Marotta's, then so be it. There are probably a million different reasons/variables anyway.

@ Nenna: We'll get around 10 million for Melo including what they have already payed for the loan. The buy-out clause is 13 million, I think? Gala will probably say it's a little too much, next summer, and Beppe will accept a deal that will take the deal to the overall mark of 10 million euros. You heard it here first.

In my opinion, if we can get anything beyond 5 million for Melo, than that should be considered a success. I don't rate him at all.

It's a fact if you don't go below the surface and take into consideration the real facts behind Secco's so called success. He inherited half of Moggi's Juve, while these players were still awesome.

Look, if I were to become Barcelona's GM tonight, I would "achieve" getting into the CL and perhaps even I'd pick up a trophy along the way, just by sitting playing Nintendo. Would you still give me credit?

It was his squads that did that. What people forget is that Secco tried to build squads to win fast because everyone had expectations for this club to pick up where it left off before relegation. You can't fault him for doing what was expected.

Marotta on the other hand is taking his sweet time in getting us back near the top. He's had 1 failed season and I doubt a 2nd season outside the top 4 and Europe will be enough for clowns around here to realize that he may not be the answer. On top of it all, the man unecessarily spews garbage from his mouth which attracts more criticism. And there is nobody to blame for that but himself.

We had some great legends in the team, and a GM who constantly made bad choices. I bet that if you think back to those days, you will agree that it was a complete mess.

History will show that the Tiago, Andrade, Almiron, Melo, Amauri and Diego-transfers will go down as some of the worst transfers in Juventus' history. Not only because of the fact that they were all either poor or average players, but also because of the transfer fees and the wages they were given.

Secco spent over 100 million euros on pure crap. Imagine where we could've been if those 100 million were spent on the players we really needed.

I'm not here to piss people off, I'm just gonna lash out at any form of praise, credit, positive recognition (call it what you like) that anyone throws Secco's way.

As for Marotta... like I said, he's not perfect, and some things that he's done is definitely worthy of critique. But he's much, much better than Secco.
