So we have old, washed-up Pirlo who's not showing 30% of his capacity over the past two years and Piazon who's a big potential and people would take Pirlo because he has experience. That's the bottom line.

And looking at the past experience of ours, would he be expensive considering Martinez's purchase? Is 10mln overall too much if limited Pepe would be over 12? If Bonucci from Bari was 15mln without wages?

Based on what are we discussing his price that is apparently too high? He has no experience and he's too young? There are many examples that show otherwise and Pato was one. So how on the Earth are our transfers tolerated but not getting a good potential for 6mln is too much? How can mediocre player come here with higher value and higher wages if we're so "careful"? Counting Matri and his wages, that transfer would cost us more than 25mln euros, is he worth it? Of course not.

They say he's too young and I just mention Pato's case. They say Piazon is inexperienced and I say Pato had only 9 matches. They say Piazon is too expensive and requires too big wages while I mention how Pato's price was 16mln higher and how his wages are triple of sum mentioned we'd 'give' for Piazon. It just makes no sense.

That's because you fail to see, deliberately or not, the difference between Pato and Piazon at the same time.

So people would be okay with paying a primavera player (who has played a grand total of 0 senior games) 1 million € a year? Which may end up costing us 2 million € a year (taxes?, I'm not familiar with the specifics of what was offered).

I'm all for snapping up young talents, but the whole point in doing so is getting them before they become ridiculously expensive, simply because they still have everything to prove.

I agree. And I like what the guys are doing with youngsters like Sørensen, who will turn out to be incredibly cheap.

My thoughts on the whole Piazon thing. Obviously talented (after seeing one game), but wouldn't have made it to the team in a few years. When the figure of 6m came up I wasn't really opposed to it, if he didn't "make" it, then I don't think we'd make such a big loss down the line. Now it's said that he cost Chelsea €12m? I'm glad Juventus didn't go through with it, because the more pressing concerns in the current team.

What I don't like is the interest in Pirlo.
