Isn't winning a Seria B count as a trophy , why we discuss about not winning trophies , win is a win nevertheless. We will compete next year for Scudetto and Coppa , and not playing the CL or UEFA Cup means an advantage over the other major contenders for those 2 trophies.

Why do some people think that the best for a footballer's career is just winning trophies?

There are lots of great players who haven't won valuable trophies in their careers, even though, they've achieved things which are much much bigger than money and trophies, their fans' respect before love.

Batistuta, he played for Fiorentina for 10 years without having an eye on winning trophies. He transfered to Roma after that, he is still a legend though in Florence. Totti is another example. Most of Real Madrid players haven't won one single trophy for 4 successive seasons, still they show commitment and respect to their team. Henry never asked Arsenal to leave, despite the fact that Arsenal haven't been the same team as the stunning one 3 years ago and aren't expected to challenge ManUtd, Chelsea and Liverpool for the next season EPL.

Even though, Buffon is a different case. He won a lot with Juve since he joined 6 years ago. The only season without a medal was season 2003/2004. Juve and only Juve were the one who made him Campioni Del Mondo, the best goalkeeper in the world and having millions of fans from around the world.

I reckon it isn't a big deal for Buffon to wait for just two seasons without trophies. I'm not saying that he'd be ungrateful if he decides to forsake us, he's free to choose his next destination. But Juventus are still Juventus, always bigger and forever greater.
Great post.

I don´t care about Italian football. I want the best only for Juve and thus I want Buffon to stay. If we do let Buffon go which would also be fair, then having around 50-60 million euros will also do good for Juve. So, it´s a win-win situation.

Gila looks more and more like a defective version of Inzaghi.
I rate Inzaghi better than Gilardino.

I take Gila in a heart beat. One bad season doesn't mean he's a bad player.
2 good seasons at a small club also don´t mean that he is a brilliant player. Watch some football and then you will see that Gilardino sucks.

Besides, you are contradicting yourself, you are saying that Trezeguet is a bad player because of one bad season.

And I rate you're avatars better than your posts 100% of the time ;)

Gila is going to turn it around next season. Hopefully, with juve.
 Who cares what you think. You are a blind Azzurri fan with no sense for football. Gila can stay sucking in Milan. We have TREZEGOAL! :agree:

This is what is called logic.

Gilardino is an overrated attacker. Yes, he played two good seasons with Parma, but as we know that players of mediocre teams don't face the same pressure which the big teams' players face. When Gilardino's played in the top level, his normal performance has been clear even to a blind.

Might he captured the spotlight of the media for awhile due to two reasons: 1) Scoring 48 goals in Serie A in two successive seasons. 2) There hasn't been a lot of good young Italian strikers these days. Even though, the previous two reasons can't make him a world-class striker. In my opinion, he is an average forward.
