Sneijder: "I was wrong on Serie A" Thursday 17 December, 2009

Wesley Sneijder tells Dutch newspapers he has “never been so happy” as at Inter and “completely changed” his concept of Serie A.
“Just think that not long ago I did not find Italy interesting. I thought the standard of the league was inferior and that they played in half-empty stadiums,” he told Elf Voetball.
“I have completely changed my mind. I can now say with great satisfaction that I am very happy here and I’ve never been so happy.”
Sneijder had originally resisted a transfer to Inter and was determined to stick it out at Real Madrid, but is now very glad he made the switch.
That does not change his obvious bitterness towards Merengues chiefs Florentino Perez and Jorge Valdano.
“I would never return to Real Madrid. What happened there was akin to a 'mafia hit.’ I could easily do what Xabi Alonso is doing now and many people believe that.
“It doesn’t mean I hate Real. After all, I keep in touch with many of my former teammates, but at the same time I am happy that I’ve been able to prove myself elsewhere.”
