Robben's goal was pure class, no doubt about it. That's the stuff I want to see at the WC, those moments of brilliance when the pressure is on.
@V: I hear so many people say how predictable he is, yet like you say, once he gets going not that many, if anyone at all, can really stop him. I see what you mean, but as a winger, there's only so many ways to run laps around your defender, which is exactly what he does. If he can keep doing what he's been doing for years and years, being predictable, that's fine with me.
@Fred: Spot on. Once he starts running it's like the whole world turns into a blur and he can only see the damn goal, which is rather frustating sometimes. It's usually alright, simply because he can achieve quite a bit on his own, but once he's scored, he turns useless because of it.
Last night, after he scored that goal he made so many runs on his own ignoring teammates in much better positions it drove me crazy. Bayern could've completely killed the game on several occasions after his goal, but Robben felt like he had to keep going by himself. He often makes a move happen, making space for himself, so he's really the one initiating the attack, but he just takes it too far.
He does that more at Bayern than in our NT though, and I hope it stays that way. If he had that bit more vision and less selfishness, he'd be even better.

What always surprises me though, is how many people actually only criticize Robben, surely you will agree that even though he has quite a few flaws, he's one of the most dangerous and best wingers around?
And yes, I'm biased because he's Dutch, so fook you!
