It's fitting that the Super League Nation wins the EC, after saving football.
the documentaries about this will be amazing. Narrated by Ferdinand and Gary Neville, can’t wait

“In 2020, a great misfortune befell the world. Millions died and billions suffered. And 2021 was not shaping out to be much better with corporations uniting against the common man. Yet, much like King Arthur, a knight shone through brightly and bravely fought for us all. Let us tell ye a little story about England. The country and most importantly…the team.”

Italy will lift the trophy, hopefully. Mancini has built an impressive team with no spoiled superstars but players who work hard and also have talent.

Not just that, but they are the only team in the first knockout round that played at home (why didn't Italy play in Rome, or the Netherlands in Amsterdam?) and if they make the final they will play 6 out of 7 matches at home.
And what favors them even more, due to the covid rules in Britain and the mandatory 10-day quarantine, England's opponents always play without fans. Even hosts who organized entire tournaments by themselves weren't as favored as England are in this EURO, jointly organized by 11 countries.
England is uefas new shiny lapdog. Borris bent the knee and sucked them dry

Can't wait for the Italy - Belgium game. I consider Italy's chances to be pretty good with KDB and Hazard out of the game. Bonucci - Chiellini have shown they are pretty good against Lukaku.

It has to be said that club football is so far ahead of international football. On paper maybe France touches one of the best club sides. But in terms of cohesion and quality of football you can't replicate what players do playing together every week. You can have some of the middling teams playing with fantastic energy and spirit but far inferior quality of players. Maybe Italy are the closest there is to what you see from a big club side on the balance of fluid football and quality of players, but they still fall short. And of course one average performance and you're probably out at the QF stage. I thought both teams today played average and one had to go through.
How could it not be so far ahead in terms of planning and tactics?

But Monday was ample evidence of how the overthinking, overplanning, and tactical fatigue has also taken the fun of the sport out of the club game.

Viva la difference. It's also uplifting to see people performing for more than sports cars and blow for a change.

It seems that at the end of most games of this tournament, there are no more game plans, and the winning goals scored by first passing the ball to the wings and then score from the crosses. Whether headers or tap-ins, the tired defences have no time to react.
It also explains many of the own goals...

It is a refreshing change. However I do agree with the notion that the perfect game of football finishes 0-0. As a spectacle it is perhaps why football is struggling and needs actions like the ESL breakaway.
