Couldn;t agree more with XXX. Watched both friendly games. Against under 21 Arsenal, it's a tie. We even lost out in the posession percentage for the game. we relied too much on crosses from flanks and deep long balls for the two strikers to attack. Trez's goal was mile offside but we paid that by Camo's called off equaliser. You get some, you lose some. It surprised me we did not dominate the game in first half against arsenal u21 where we have world champions members, international regulars, CL experienced players etc etc. Our defence was solid but our strikers hardly got any link up. Problem? Midfield.
2nd game against Hamburg. Once again, our midfield let us down. No link up. Marchioni was average and we relied a lot on Molinaro(yes, Molinaro) crosses from left.actually i agreed Molinaro is our best left back choice till now.
Our biggest midfield lies in Midfield, obviously. I am not worry about attackers at all since we got 4 great fwds. As for defence, it's not a water tight defence but it's still can be regarded as top 3 defence line in seria A. Chilleni is Italy no.1 CB already(IMO) Melberg has a lot of experience, Legro is doing OK, Gyrgera is solid too, Molinaro is improving. Maybe we can purchase another RB/CB to replace Zebina, but this defence line is definitely better than AC Milan.LOL!!
We got super GIGI in our GK , who is the best GK in universe. Chimenti actually did OK. He had some decent saves too. The 3rd goal we conceded vs hamburg was just due to lack of spirit.
Now, what should our board do with our midfield?We got too many DMs lying around. The only one that can pass the ball right now is Zanetti.(talking about CM) Poulsen, Tiago are pretty average, Sisokko is strong and passionate, but he's better with tackling and can;t pass, can;t shoot. Pls, board of directors, buy us VDV or Diego!!!
with current squad, top 3 seria A is a possibility, but to be champions, it's a dream

it was just a friendly and there were a couple of good signs here and there as there were bad ones. I saw a couple of good combinations between the midfield players and the forwards which looked very promising and the prime example of that is the disallowed camo goal. Also i thought marchionni looked good in this game and the arsenal game ( and i am not a fan of his).
Again its just a friendly win or lose it doesn't matter at the end of the day. Lets just hope the injuries aren't so bad for both knezevic and molinaro.

Let me just add one more thing; If poulsen was EXACTLY the same player he is now, but called 'poulsinho' and if he would have had those fancy dread-locks and constantly saying things like 'I'm the special one', everyone would have been happy. It's because we signed someone with a not-so-classy image, that all of these discussions are going on. I never said i was a friend of poulsen, but what he's showing is alright to me. take quaresma for an example ... i do not watch the portugese league, but after watching some videos on youtube (yeah yeah kids, bash me for watching videos of quaresma on youtube) all i saw in those compilation were a bunch of rabonas that were just bad crosses that were caught by the keeper. in fact, the fancy stuff he did in those videos did not lead to a goal ... so what is the fuss all 'bout?
(although the stats do speak for quaresma ... on the other side it is the portugese league(which is less competitive) and he plays for a "big" club there so it's easier for him to make assists and score)
most of those fancy "boys" do lot's of tricks that you wan't see on the scoresheet ... remember cristiano ronaldo was just like that a few years ago ... many tricks, no goals, no assists.

There has never been such a strong serie B team and it will never be,
only because we, the strongest team in Italy and one of the strongest in Europe,
were not relegated naturally.
Our team was half full of world class players, even while we were crippled after the calciopoli.
Nedved, DP, Camo, Buffon, Chiellini and Trezequet are not the representative load of serie B players you know...and it doesnt make us a serie B new comer
We were only relegated because of the scandal and being one of the biggest FCs in the world, allows us to heal up faster and regain our status using our brand name budget and fan base, much faster,
than any other team, like Genoa or Napoli would have done, even if we seared the same budget.

I don't care about that at all. I would prefer to buy VDV instead for the same price, because he would have been 10 times more useful. VDV might fail with Real Madrid, and that's a big possibility, not because he is a bad player, but Real loves to include as much as players possible and bench them. Shame we lost that big opportunity, one thing I am very sure is that we could be much much stronger if we had signed him, and that pisses me off, after all I care about this club.
As for Knezevic or Ekdal, I have no clue who they are, and these friendlies mean nothing imo (in terms of showing their real worth), but I know these transfers are not enough for this season. And I know we both agree with that.

I don't care about that either. I said I was happy because of what I mentioned. As I told you before in whatever happens to the club, I search for the smallest positive thing that might amuse me and look at it. I simply look for entertainment.

NO!!! Creativity, is the ability to create/invent different kind of chances,
when we have a standard, typical method to attack that involves no surprise element and initiative, we lack creativity.
For ex using 2 DMS to defend and our wingers to try those desperate long balls as our only attacking pattern, (like we do) , this is not "creativity", despite creating chances (on theory)
creativity doesnt necessarily means we have to use a fantasista, although a fantasista invents a different attacking pattern every single time he attacks, using the same player to try exactly the same thing, would also a be predictable, "non-creative" effort.
But using a long Neddy/Stanko shot, once,
A nice cross by Camo the other time,
a Tiago/Alonso nice "though pass" by the next time
and a straight full power penetration ala Drogba by Amaury is hard to predict or anticipate.
And give us so many options to penetrate almost every defense...
The problem with Poulsen is that he adds absolutely nothing to our squad,
we actually need a different type of player, we are well stacked up with DMs, we dont need another one.
Sissoko is better and more promising than him,
Zanetti is experienced and more efficient than him and Marchisio is ready to fill the gaps and even offer some creativity.
What we actually need is a player to complete them, a CM like Alonso, someone who may add smth in our squad, the right pass, at the right man, at the right moment could work wonders with our team and present us a way out at the usual "dead end" conditions, we face.
We have no player to dictate our game, to share the ball properly and calmly, according to the needs of the game
and give us an alternative attacking solution when our flanks are shut down and our forwards are cut off.
A DM cant offer any help at these moments, no one expects from Poulsen to do that and that means that we got our selves a tool we already had, instead of the tool we really need. We sacrificed our allocated sum from our transfer budget, to buy such a player.
Not to mention this certain selection we made has no future, Sissoko is our future, Zanetti our present and Marchisio our future, there is no need for such an expensive mediocre player. Once again, we add depth in a place that wasnt needed and ignore our real problems.
Hopefully, Giovinco and Camo used as CM could fill that void and we might actually get Alonso at x-mas transfer period...
