I would love Forlan here but not for that price,
Also i would like to see a pure killer and i can't wait to get -rep again by that shitface moron Ibrahomobitch9 because i want Huntelaar here.
Or a powerfull speedy striker like Porto's Hulk, but those are just dreams as it seems.

Thing is we'd have to pay the wages for any player we bring, even if we bring Floro Flores for example on 2 mil € salary, that'd be 8 mil € over two years, makes the wages of Forlan look good.
Thing is, after those 2 years Floro Flores would still be worth something & part of the money can be recuperated. Not the case with Forlan.

I honestly don't understand how someone could agree on spending +/- 31 million€ (all in) on an old player. As far as investments go, that in itself is really about as bad as it gets.
Now couple that with what happened in the summer (the way we had supposedly chosen to continue), and it truly gets beyond ridiculous.

Never mind short term thinking. That's just not thinking at all.

If we spend 12 mil on an unknown martinez, 15 millon is worth it. His got atleast a 2-3 seasons with us (maybe more) so isnt just 15 million for one season and im sure 15 million isnt the dead on price, we can negotiate, put in tiago in the deal and whoever else. As for wages, put up with it for now. Its a risk but at the end of the day worth risking, especially on a quality player and not unknowns.
Then why did you brought Martinez in the discussion?
We also spend 28million on Diego and 25 or so on Amauri, Do you see my point?

german media said Juve wants forlan but only loan/ later paymant, Madrid wants the cash, on the other news they are close to sign with barzagli, in fact they are done with negotiatins and wolfsburg will sell when they found another defender to fill the gap. ( from sueddeutsche Newspaper)

Because we are talking about a proven quality player here. No dont see your point.
Diego was proven and so was Amauri,Poulsen,Tiago,Andrade and Grygera. And used to be labelled as quality players.
Like i said Forlan would be so welcome here but not for that price, i dont want to spend 15 mill on something you call a quick fix meaning 2/3 years if he doesnt get injured.
My point is not that hard to see.

well the last 2 years (including the WC), I would say forlan was one of the top 5 strikers worldwide, if not even top 3. with our guys up front he would make a huge difference , and why shouldn´t he be able to play til he is 34, thats 3 full seasons. If he scores 15 goals and we make the championsleague his aquisition already paid of, I do not think - if we get a chance to sign him - that we are in the position to think it over. Only if we wanna play europa league again, than we shouldn´t go for him...

I understand your point, and I agree with it somewhat. Thing is, we're in a position where we really dont have much choice.

Now that we've lost Quag our attack is nonexistant, we have noone to create and score goals, as we could see from the matches against Parma and Napoli.

Our midfield isnt all that either, we're too slow and too predictable because we only depend on Krasić.

We really dont have much choice, if we dont bring in some quality we will most probably miss the CL again and that could have much worse long term consequences than the 30 mil € we'd spend on Forlan.

I heard that Ajax are willing to sell Suarez for 17-18 million, if thats true then we should go for him instead.

you are forgetting that if Forlan can get us into CL we will recuperate his transfer fee
