the only problem with forlan is the price/age ratio with our limited budget. and i don't think atletico will do a loan w/ option to buy deal even with tiago in the mix.

but id still welcome forlan. he's a nice player who could fill in for QTube easily.

@Rami Sure:D

He's 31, I know he's great but for real, why do we want to splash 15million on a striker who can offer us 2/3max..
We bought Pepe and Martinez i believe for the same figure amount of money.
I wanted him here instead of Toni but not for that price.

He can be much much better than Quag. But the dream would be, Quag and Forlan together. Dynamite...

Despite the fact that what we really need is a full back, cant hide my excitement if Forlan was brought in. He would be a wonderful asset and the ideal player to take this club to a new level. Dont care about age, this mans got it all. Get him quick.

but you should care about age. how much longer will he be able to perform the way he is doing now? every player reaches a stage where it is not possible anymore to have it all day in, day out.

His just a quick fix, of course dependent on how he settles in but im sure he wont find difficulty if we got him. We need CL really badly, his one of the few forwards available who can give us that extra kick and goals.

If we spend 12 mil on an unknown martinez, 15 millon is worth it. His got atleast a 2-3 seasons with us (maybe more) so isnt just 15 million for one season and im sure 15 million isnt the dead on price, we can negotiate, put in tiago in the deal and whoever else. As for wages, put up with it for now. Its a risk but at the end of the day worth risking, especially on a quality player and not unknowns.

But, we are in January and there aren't better available strikers!

Thing is we'd have to pay the wages for any player we bring, even if we bring Floro Flores for example on 2 mil € salary, that'd be 8 mil € over two years, makes the wages of Forlan look good.
