I dont think that replacing Nedved with a 31 years old payer (we're talking about next year) is a good idea

On the other hand if we already have a Nedved replacement (Giovinco) but he needs time to get more experience, then Mancini sound like a very good temporary replacement for Nedved if we won't pay much for him
Yeah the age has its factor but from a development point of view, Giovinco isn't going to get a starting position at Juve until he plays solid football and proves himself for at least one or 2 seasons elsewhere first.

Once again, it depends on Ranieri will play, but I see the likes of Palladino taking on a major role in this team as well.

For me, Mancini is a player who you know would be solid.

The way i see the transition atm is that we rely on Alex,Iaquinta,Trezi and palladino with giovinco getting transitioned into the team slowly. Now that would place a big burden on Palladino starting by next season. I see it as a make or break season for him and he will need to prove his worth.

the thing Palla is proving his worth whenever he gets his chance as a FOWARD n not a midfielder.. and as for Mancini, id much rather see Giovinco in a starting role than him next year for various reasons

I wouldn't classify Mancini as a solid player really. He is very inconsistent, his contributions are very sporadic and he doesn't constantly contribute to the team effort and play. He is a moment footballer, which just occasionally leads to something. He can win matches, but he doesn't improve the team.

This season is Palladino's second, and still he wasn't given a full chance IMO, so he's already transitioned into the team so slowly

EDITED: I dont think Gio can do Nedved's defensive duties, if Gio replaces Nedved (hopefully), the defensive plans should change

Pozzo: Di Natale and Quagliarella Are Going Nowhere

Udinese President Giampaolo Pozzo has claimed that the club’s star duo Antonio Di Natale and Fabio Quagliarella will be staying at least until the end of the season.

Both players have been linked with moves away from the Stadio Friuli during the January transfer window, with Di Natale seemingly of interest to both Roma and Milan.

The pair are regulars in Roberto Donadoni’s Italy squad and started Saturday’s crucial Euro 2008 qualifier against Georgia in Genoa.

“Di Natale and Quagliarella are not going anywhere in January and will be remaining with us at least until June,” said Pozzo.

“We are not the biggest of clubs and so to be represented in the national team by two of our players makes us very proud.”

Di Natale was a national hero last month after his two goals against Ukraine helped the Azzurri to a vital 2-1 win. He followed this up with the winner for his club against Juventus, and also scored two stunners in the week four victory over Reggina.

Quagliarella on the other hand has not had the best of starts to the new campaign but he did score in the Bianconeri’s week six win over Parma.

Zapata Wants To Join Juventus

Udinese star Cristian Zapata is on the verge of asking his club to allow him to join Juventus, according to today’s edition of Tuttosport.

Yesterday the Italian newspaper revealed that Zapata had emerged as La Vecchia Signora’s primary transfer target as they continue in their search for a top-class centre back.

The Colombian stopper, whose outstanding form has helped his club to fifth in Serie A, is happy to stay at the Stadio Friuli until the end of the season providing he is then allowed to move on to Turin.

Udinese will not let the 21-year-old leave for anything less than €20m, however the Juventus hierarchy are prepared to include a number of promising youngsters such as Paolo De Ceglie, Claudio Marchisio, Davide Lanzafame and even Sebastian Giovinco in any deal.

Zapata only signed a new contract with the Zebrette last month that runs until 2012. The physically strong defender originally signed for the club in 2005 from Colombian side Deportivo Cali.

Zapata calms transfer talk Thursday 8 November, 2007

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Udinese defender Cristian Zapata claims he is happy to stay at the Stadio Friuli and refuses to comment on Juventus and Fiorentina’s alleged interest.

The Colombian star is winning plaudits with the Zebrette and has been linked with a summer switch to one of Italy’s giants.

However, the 21-year-old is reluctant to rock the boat in Udine with his side sailing smoothly in fifth place and stresses he has never asked for a move.

“I have never said any of the things I have been quoted as saying,” Zapata insisted indignantly.

“I am happy at Udinese and have never talked about wanting to leave. I don’t want there to be misunderstandings over things that aren’t true.

Zapata chose instead to discuss his side’s big test at in-form Fiorentina this weekend.

“It will be an exciting challenge,” he said enthusiastically. “We are taking on a very strong team with great players in their ranks.

“We are working hard so we can put in a big performance and try and come away from Florence with three points.”

Except interviews with Juve players once in while, Tuttosport is bullshit.

Considering they have to fill half a newspaper with Juve news on a daily basis, they have an excuse though

Again Tuttosport. :faq1: But to be prefectly honest, I would love to have Zapata. He is young and already very good. He has a great future ahead of him. He will be better than Cordoba IMO. Udinese will sell him eventually but not just yet. And when they sell him, he won´t come cheap. *sigh*

Tuttosport is bullshit.
Exactly. You are totally right.

Zapata would be an okay signing, we need better really, my point was at no expense should we lose Giovinco, he may well replace Ale the way il capitano did Baggio, we neverr thought anyone could, but he proved us wrong, & if Seba can do the same, why would we let him go in exchange for an okay player.

Giovinco is our future, lets not lose him to a life on loan at Siena!

to be honest i see pallagol more as an AM than a true forward and feel this is wher he will prove his true worth for juve

what's the natural position of Mancini?RM or LM?
he actually signed and started at roma as a wing-back but was so attacking he was moved forward, roma's fluid formation allows him the frredom to float from tiem too time

If Secco trades Giovinco for Zapata, I WILL KILL HIM!!!
I promise!!
i will join that line
