lets see what quagliarella does at udinese? i do like him, but im not going to try get carried away as hes only had 1 good season, and does score some quite magnificent goals, but i fear he wont replicate that at udinese.
I'd expect more of him at Udinese. He has wonderful support in Di Natale, and he also has hot prospects Barretto and Asamoah Gyan (or however you spell it) as teammates. He knows what's expected of him and if he fails, his spot will be taken by one of the two prospects. Remember, you're talking about the man who scored two goals on his national team debut...I'm sure he'll be able to replicate last season's performance. He's used to expectation by now.

having quality around him is one thing, but other teams and opponents will have taken note on his style of play and will probably sus him out, but i could be wrong, i just fear he could be another tavano

Don't you think they would have caught on to Del Piero's or Trezeguet's style of play by now if that was the case? Quag is quality, and when you're quality, you have the ability to make something out of nothing.

some players are actually good enough to stay consistant, and there are those who are just one season wonders

Quagliarella = Unproven

Lets see how he plays at Udinese before we take a chance on him. He seems like another Miccoli in my opinion.

next season maybe, no point in di natale, hes like iaquinta, alot of pace but no end product
Why all that hate Towards Iaquinta???? I mean he´s scores an average of 12 goals in the last 4 years and in Calcio I think that's not bad at all. He's not Trezeguet not to mention Del Piero but i think he's an exellent back up. :tup: He's good 4 the LADY.

backup? sorry but that just makes things worse, the fact we spent 11 mill on a player only good enough to be a backup tears me apart even more so when we could of just kept miccoli at no extra cost for someone who is better infront of goal than iaquinta.

I agree. I think a lot of people want everybody to be starter quality. Not yet. Most people think every player on the field should score 16 goals a season and do it with style. Teams need role players and he is one of them. I don't think he is good as a starter, but he is a good backup.

I was all for keeping Miccoli. I think we made a mistake with that move.

Good point Andy. Quagliarella is a player of undoubted quality IMO, but you got to prove yourself on a consistent basis in order to be recognized as a good player. I mean Cassano. You cant have more quality than him; he is up there with the world's very best. But he never really kick started his career.

My concern with Quagliarella is that he relied on too many fantastic goal like Ale in his younger days. Its shows that you have class, but in terms of substance, a tap in as same as 35 dipping volley. Ale really became world class player not talent IMO once he started to score some easy goals. Quagliarella needs to the same.

I also think there is a good chance Asamoah Gyan might even over-shadow him next season. He has every attribute to become world's best striker. But he needs to work on his finishing like Quagliarella. Udinese will be one of the most exciting team this season IMO, at least.
