exactly

all these geniuses who think that david is too old and ineffective forget that camo, alex and buffon are over 30. but apparently david is the only one must go because he is too old.

also they want nedved to return 1 more season since he has been spectacular the past 3 seasons :andyandbarcelona:
David is not "too old", so to speak as far as age is concerned.

What does concern me though, and to use an analogy, is how much "tread he has left on the tires".

He has been beset by injuries the last few seasons, and the severity of the injuries seem to get worse as he gets older.

Here is how I look at it, from a tactical point of view.

As it stands right now, there is somewhat of an imbalance among the 4 main strikers. Hypothetically speaking, there is no true "second striker" on this team aside from Delpiero.

Now, in a perfect world, Trez could be sold to Real Madrid, and that money could go towards acquiring Rossi, which in my opinion, would give Juventus the most versatile and dangerous set of forwards in Europe. Each one has many similarities, such as a high work rate, a willingness to enter the build up of play, yet they all have very different characteristics which make them unique.

I think the days of a "static striker", for this team, are over.

Ball possesion is something that is going to be crucial for this team if they want to take the next step in Italy and Europe, and I don't think that there is room for someone like Trez on this team anymore.

if you use a logical analysis based on scheme and team architecture to come up with a reason why we should let david go then that is acceptable.

but if morons keep making up dumb fucking excuses because he is "old" or injury prone then please don't waste your time posting. please remember that camo is injury prone and is a year older than david. yet i don't see any posts about letting him go. stop the bullshit and use your brains. david may get injured but the return has always been greater than the risk. what club wouldn't want a killer like david to finish for them? his career stats tell the story.

Dude, if Trez isn't injury prone, no one is. The guy was out for the entire season and there's NOTHING that says he'll be back to his former self next season. No reason to be blind FFS.

One injury doesn't make a player injury prone.
First of all it's not one injury. But even more importantly, it's not just another injury for Trez. He has had it before, the outcome is bad, it's the second time they've had to operate, he's still not playing well.. there is nothing that says he'll be back.

He has had a number of injuries over the last 5 years. The problem is, they are getting worse as he gets older.

Again though, to answer Dru's question, I see the need to sell him as more of a tactical move than anything else

We don't know how he is playing.

Juve have already rejected some bids because they were considered too low. I'm sure that if the club didn't believe Trez could still offer something they would have accepted one of these bids to get him off the wage bill.

what about Camoranesi? based on your logic he is also injury prone. also, the surgery he had done was intended to clean up somethings which are intended to help him in the long run.

Are the bids rejected because they are considered too low, or do you think they are simply trying to drive up the market in light of some of the transfer numbers that have been coming across lately?

Certainly, his goal scoring rate over his career has been fantastic. However, my personal opinion is that he is too one-dimensional for the type of team that Juve needs to be in the future

if Trez wants out then we should set a price and sell him when Real or any other foreign team wants him
if it's an Italian team then set a higher price
if he wants to stay then he's more then welcome to stay
and stop all this crap about injuries ffs didn't he do enough for us
if he wants to go we should let him but I kinda hope he wants to stay

It is entirely possible that they are just trying to raise his value.

I don't buy that.

A fit Trez would be a major asset to almost any team in the world.

I would rather have a striker that will do nothing except score goals, than have one that runs around all day and misses chances.
