and Canna is new blood for our defence?
and del is aging but you are not suggesting to sell him...
exactly

all these geniuses who think that david is too old and ineffective forget that camo, alex and buffon are over 30. but apparently david is the only one must go because he is too old.

also they want nedved to return 1 more season since he has been spectacular the past 3 seasons :andyandbarcelona:

Real chase Trez Monday 15 June, 2009

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Juventus striker David Trezeguet is the new Real Madrid target as negotiations with David Villa and Zlatan Ibrahimovic seem to have fallen through.

According to the player’s agent, Antonio Caliendo, the Merengues are strongly interested in the French ace.

Caliendo, who took part in the Italian TV show 'Diretta Stadio’, explained Juve are more than willing to let Trezeguet go.

The former Monaco man is still regarded as one of the best strikers in Europe and Real President Florentino Perez would fancy his capture.

Caliendo added that his client would be more than satisfied with a move to la Liga. His wage requests could also be lowered if he was to move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Juventus would look to replace the 32-year-old with Italy starlet Giuseppe Rossi, while Real Madrid could also offer them a couple of players such as Royston Drenthe and Gabriel Heinze in a part-exchange deal for Trezegol.

Drenthe may leave Real, as his position is kinda covered with the new arrivals, but i don't think we would get Heinze even if we would want it, and it may be a good thing for us. Drenthe + nice amount of money like 5 million pounds would be one hell of an offer for Trez, who isn't that valuable in the market anymore. A promising SS would nicely balance our attack.

Trez for Huntelaar. Anything else is a no-go. Drenthe is so over-rated, inconsistent, and he doesn't even know his best position. as for Heinze, he is a butcher whose only guarantee for us will be a minimum of 5 red cards per season.

hahaha the players we should be selling are Poulson, Tiago, molinaro and grygera....why the hell are people considering selling trezeguet man....i am sure the sale of Poulson, Tiago molinaro and grygera would really bring us alot more money than that of trezegol....

and with that money, we can buy a good rightback and midfielder/winger

Exactly. It'd be one thing if these people were advocating it based on experience that Trez is getting old and can't play as he used to. But no, apparently blanket statements like "he is old" are enough to dismiss one of the best strikers in Serie A.

He leaves only if he wants to... Anyone using the 'he's old/he's not getting any younger' card is lame though... Look at Inzaghi (a striker of the same mould) scoring at will... If Trezeguet is ready to challenge for his spot and he's happy to stay, then there is no need to sell him... (Unless of course if ManCity or Real come up with an outrageous bid which would be hard to ignore)

Question: How many years left on his current contract?
