I believe Trez is a striker of a dying breed, he doesn't really participate too much in a game but in the box he's always there at the right time
does he have a future in the squad? only Ciro can answer that but I can see why some members question his adaptability to other tactics
I doubt we can use him as a lone striker
he needs a partner upfront
I want him to stay but I don't know what our tactics will be, I can only guess based on incomplete information
maybe I just want him here out of nostalgia,
maybe I should let him go...

TrezeGOAL might go "unnoticed" for most of the match, but when he is there to put in the winning goal (like he have done so many times), it hardly seem to matter. It might not seem like he is working much, but he is a constant threat to the other team and he is without a doubt one of the best finishers in the game. His statistics speaks for themselfs.

Love Trez and all. He's scored some of our most important goals in the past 5 years.

But still, I've always considered him to be made of glass.
you guys act like the guy has missed the past 3-4 seasons due to injury

all players get injured. some choose/are able to play through those injuries while others prefer or are forced to heal and rehab.

it depends on a combination of things like the player, management, the med staff, coaches, even the agent.

david has proven himself on the highest level on numerous occasions, and when he is in form he is arguably one of the best finishers in the world.

i guarantee all of you that if he does leave then whoever replaces him will garner so much criticism because they will not produce like this guy does. we are all complacent fans and the first thing that will be spat out will be along the lines of "we need a finisher, we shouldn't have let david go". i can really see that appearing in a post match thread

I can understand the nostalgia, believe me.

15 years after the fact, it still pains me that Baggio left under the circumstances that he did, but such is football.

You will not hear me say that Trez sucks, he's a waste of space, etc...etc... I hold those comments for Camoranesi. :D

However, I don't want this team hanging on to players 1 or 2 years too late without having some sort of a plan in place. Look at how long they sat on their asses trying to replace Nedved, and can you tell me that they have actually done it?

You can say that they have, but it required a major tactical shift to a 4-3-1-2 formation, and a sufficient replacement for Nedved is probably still needed

It bothers me that people seem to forget so quickly what TrezeGOAL has done for Juve, just because he had an injury this season and had a fall out with Ranieri, so he didn't get a chance when he had recovered.

Ok, dru, fair enough.

But let me ask you this.

What can Trezeguet do RIGHT NOW that Amauri and Iaquinta can't?

just wait for the chaos to be bred when ADP's time comes

This is also the sme player that wanted to leave when Calciopoli hit, and basically gestured as such at the end of the 2006 season that he wanted out.

So there are two ways of looking at it.

Its very possible that he is no longer guaranteed first team football, and personally would have a hard time playing him instead of Amauri and to a lesser extent my personal favorite, Iaquinta

So then, by your logic they should sell Amauri?

i can't answer that question fairly because we haven't seen what both amauri and vinny can do with a fully functioning team. all of us have had the luxury of seeing david for so many years.

i do know that the 2nd half of this season showed amauri in a poor slump. but we don't have enough info to make that judgement

Based on the 2nd half of the season Amauri, Trez and DP all suck and should be sold pronto.

Of course, if you take a longer term perspective..
