Nah that's rubbish. He has singehandedly thwarted many developing attacks because of a poor pass or a stupid dribble. Alternatively, he's lost the ball easily on so many occasions which has led to dangerous attacks on the other end.

Given the positions he occupies on the pitch, it's natural to be involved in build up play. He's simply not good enough for that.

You can blame midfield all you want for not creating many chances but we can't turn a blind eye towards how bad his overall play has declined. Can't have a 36 year old player showboating on the flank anymore.

It's one of the big reasons why Barca are struggling similarly in having a more balanced setup. Messi refuses to play anywhere else. Him playing on the RW is disrupting the balance of the team. It's a huge commitment to revamp the entire team just to get the best out of one player who's in his twilight years.

This. Ronaldo in the receiving end of the ball isn't necessity. He could drink a cup of coffee in the box and he could create a space for someone else. He's one player out of 11 on the field, we ain't playing a system that is build for Ronaldo(compared to what they have in Barca for Messi), we ain't even trying to look him more than others. There's 11 players on the field, Ronaldo prob has the ball 3-5% of the game at max and people claim our game is revolving around him. Even in RM it didn't, he was just the quality in there to finish the attacks for the rest of the quality around him.

I don't think he will leave, but IF he does leave, then contrary to popular belief I don't think we will miss his 30 goals per season like some may think.

I reckon that we will probably score just as many goals without him. His goals will be spread evenly among our forward line.

We scored 86 goals in the 2017/18 Serie A season, and we haven't come close to that since he joined us.

Of course I could be completely wrong, but that's my gut feeling.

Other players will score. Not one player like him, but if we sign good enough strikers and Dybala shows some form we will score the same amount we do every season. It's not like you take 30 goals away and it is not replaced. Ronaldo was brought to decide games, but it's not quite worked out as well as hoped.

Yup thats exactly what is most annoying when what the star player wants goes without any attention to logic..can't take FKs for shit takes every single one...plays one game under pirlo as CF, was effective and we will never see it again if CR doesn't want to do it. That left side requires a top dedicated mid just to cover his ass against worthy teams..

We know that it is not a great decision in business perspective to pay someone 31M euro just to sit on the bench
We will probably have 1 players with 25 goals 2 players 10-15+ goals and more goals from the midfield
So in the end the total goal will easily surpass 75 goals in Serie A (we currently @77 goals) , probably around 80-90 goals

But if we can improve the CB partnership and the left and right back area+ more clean sheets game so we can see around 30 goals conceded

Back to Real Madrid?


It may or may not be important that a truck carrying a number of Ronaldo’s expensive sports cars made the 16-hour overland trip last week from his Turin home to the house he still keeps in Madrid’s leafy La Finca district.


The uncertainty over whether he will remain at Juventus made the timing of the move interesting and predictably fuelled further speculation that he was interested in a return to Real Madrid, where he scored 450 goals and won 16 trophies, including four Champions Leagues, over nine seasons.


Similar stories have been around for months — The Athletic was told in mid-March by sources knowledgeable on Ronaldo’s thinking that a return to the Bernabeu was not unthinkable.


It does still seem very unlikely, though.

President Florentino Perez must cut at least €100 million off the team’s wage bill this summer, hence the likely exit of long-serving club captain Sergio Ramos. A difference of opinion between Perez and Ronaldo over whether ageing galacticos’ contracts should keep rising forever was also a big reason for the player leaving in the first place.


Ronaldo visiting Madrid this summer makes sense: He retains business interests there including a swish city-centre hotel and high-end hair-loss clinic, and partner Georgina’s family live there.

However, it might be the case of just a quick spin around familiar roads in his favourite sports cars, rather than setting back in for a longer-term stay.

How about a return to Old Trafford?


Manchester United have explored the prospect of bringing Ronaldo back on numerous occasions since he departed in 2009, most seriously when he joined Juventus three years ago. The commercial appeal to co-chairman Joel Glazer is obvious, while there is genuine football merit to recruiting a player who has won so much and maintains such professionalism.


Even though he’ll turn 37 next season, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would entertain signing Ronaldo. He has seen the value of bringing ready-made quality and experience into the squad with Edinson Cavani, who is 34.


Privately, Solskjaer ranks Ronaldo, a United team-mate from 2003-07, as the best he has played with, slightly edging Paul Scholes when judging the entirety of their careers. Solskjaer is still in touch with Ronaldo, after tapping into his expertise before pressing ahead to sign his Portugal team-mate Bruno Fernandes in January last year.


United also have the financial scope to absorb Ronaldo’s salary demands — although he would easily surpass David de Gea as the club’s top earner — so long as any proposed transfer fee was compatible. There is a theory his price could be lowered because Juventus need to balance the books and removing his enormous wages would alleviate pressure.


The huge pile of cash inevitably required does complicate matters considerably. Also, Juventus managing to qualify for the Champions League on the final day, thus securing a major uplift on revenue next season, has lessened the need for them to sell

Au revoir in France?


In many ways, a year or two in the French capital would represent the perfect denouement for Ronaldo’s career in Europe.


After proving and reaffirming his quality in England, Spain and now Italy, here would be an opportunity to stamp his name over a fourth major domestic league and, despite Lille’s title success in Ligue 1 this season, he could expect plenty more domestic silverware with Paris Saint-Germain.

The Parisians, however, are not expected to commit major funds to this summer’s transfer window. Even deep-pocketed PSG have been damaged by the pandemic, the loss of income from their lucrative hospitality boxes and a collapsed domestic television deal. There is also doubt over the future of manager Mauricio Pochettino after he held talks with previous club Tottenham, although PSG are determined a coach they only appointed in January will not make a swift return to north London.


The club’s focus in recent months has been to successfully extend Neymar’s contract, and PSG also remain hopeful of securing an agreement this summer to tie Kylian Mbappe to the club for the long term. These two deals would severely hamstring their capability to add another certified superstar to their ranks, although a forward line of Mbappe, Ronaldo and Neymar is a tantalising prospect.


The Athletic reported late last year that intermediaries had approached PSG to offer them Ronaldo in the previous summer window and the club are understood to have turned this down. Gestifute, the management agency who represents Ronaldo, denied this claim.


There was a time that Ronaldo’s super-agent Jorge Mendes would regularly attend PSG games but his relationship with the club’s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is not quite as warm as it once was.


At this stage at least, Paris is an unlikely Ronaldo destination.

I don't think they necessarily want to get rid of him, just wouldn't mind saving on his salary and going for a reset.

If he stays eventually Max will make good use of him for sure.
