I can't speak for other countries, but we have retards in charge. Plain and simple.
Rather than actually taking useful matters, those people in charge are hellbent on coming up with all sorts of diversions. As long as it looks like they're doing something, all is great!

My two close friends and their wives are covid positive, but have very mild symptoms, mostly just fatigue and muscle/bone pain with a low temperature.

I feel mostly fine even though I spent a lot of time with them.
What I hate is autosuggestion I have, I tend to feel weak from time to time, but I think it's mostly because of high temperatures outside (I don't endure those very well), but I'm constantly thinking of Covid. I'm not afraid of the disease, I'm afraid I might get others infected...

Honestly it's very difficult to say. Maybe you have more deaths initially, but fewer later on as you wouldn't have these recurrent waves. In the meantime the economy doesn't plummet and people don't die because they postponed urgent surgeries.

At this point in time it's all anyone's guess really.

With the exception of course that, whatever course you take, communicating dishonestly about what you know and having a shitty healthcare system in general are always going to cause a bad situation.

What bothers me is that initially we did all these things that hurt our economy and we're in the same situation today, but we're doing things differently because we are trying to save our economy.

Well a few things to be taken in to consideration. For once you cannot compare Germany to Sweden as Germany has around 8 times it's population and the density in West-German is probably much higher.

I'm not buying this death rate at all as various countries count their mortality rate differently. In Sweden they count every Covid-related death as one (meaning it is up to debate people died with Covid or due Covid). That's why it's also much higher than Denmark's death rate as it's neighbouring country. I don't know how it's in Germany but for example in the NL they only count those who were tested (which most weren't) and died as an official death. Hence why we have officially around 6.5K deaths but the reality is probably around 9-11K deaths as most elderly didn't get tested due to lack of tests. If you look at the fact we went into an eight week lockdown and as if today have a higher mortality rate and higher infection per day (also a much higher R-rate) you could easily say the Swedish approach has been much more sustainable so far. Whereas you see thousands of people rioting in Berlin you don't see much resistance in Sweden.

It changes from week to week and country to country. Currently flights to Spain from the UK are cancelled until later this month and returnees have to quarantine for 2 months, for example. It depends where there are flare-ups in the virus contraction.

Spain has some problem areas in the mainland.
