Crises like this is a God send for politicians already in office who have the tools to solve this, become a hero, and run for re-election or higher office. Cuomo understands this very well. Trump on the other hand...
I wouldn't even be surprised at this point if Trump testing negative is fake news too.

It’s only Trump apologist Republicans like Cam doing this.

Trump disbanded the pandemic response team, slashed funding for this sort of stuff, and then his federal government is outbidding states on medical equipment and supplies after he said states must purchase them on their own lol. This after calling it a hoax for over a month too.

lol there you go again. I haven't even mentioned Trump when I first brought up the Cuomo subject. Read it for yourself:

https://www.health.ny.gov/regulatio...lications/docs/ventilator_guidelines_faqs.pdf

Even if New York State purchases additional ventilators, the demand would quickly outpace supply in a severe pandemic.

That was his/their excuse. Why get them because it would be so bad it would be pointless because there wouldn't have been enough. Basically telling people of NY/NYC if you get caught in a pandemic, good luck.

So today he complains that FEMA isn't giving him enough...

He had over a decade of warning signs with these kinds of infections spreading around the world and in a highly traveled and tourist heavy NYC, they turned down the chance to buy/receive more.

Clearly they thought this kind of Crisis could have potentially come up, refuting Ronn's sarcasm that someone can't plan for it. Well, they obviously did, and decided NOT to take the chance to get more equipment that would have been useful. Trump wasn't president in 2015, however, Cuomo was in charge in NY. Thats on him. I am not even talking about what he has been doing since this started, mind you I think he has done a wonderful job for NYC. This decision in 2015, however, was a bad call.

Twist it back to Trump though.

Trump’s approval rating has hit 49% during this pandemic (last Gallup poll), the highest in his time in office. :sergio:
that's because he is having briefings every other day. Morons out there hear him talk and make empty promises and they think he is being proactive and doing god's work.
He keeps saying tests and supplies are on the way, but nothing is ever arriving ... just buying time to mask his administrations' ineptitude.

These events have also emphasized the need for ventilator allocation protocols because it is highly likely a similar type of event could occur in the foreseeable future. :boh:

That's because they have a history of pandemics starting from there. Sars, the chicken flu or aviary flu and now cov 19 started in that area.
We(Europeans and Americans) or the rest of the world for that matter hardly have had to deal with this threat on this larger scale.
Maybe it's because we don't eat bat soup.
Mad Cow disease started in the UK

Is there any time the approval rating of a person in charge doesn't go up during a crisis?
Bolsonaro’s approval ratings have taken a beating. A survey published Monday by the Datafolha polling firm showed that just 34% of Brazilians polled thought the president’s job performance was “great” or “good.” That’s the lowest level since he took office last year.

Still it's good to see Brazilian community leaders taking responsibilty and reasonable steps:

Drug traffickers in one of Rio de Janeiro’s best-known favelas have imposed a coronavirus curfew, amid growing fears over the impact the virus could have on some of Brazil’s poorest citizens

no - what's the saying? Say something often enough people will eventually believe it or something like that? Seems to be the mantra of the admin at the moment...
Yep. Supplies are on the way, the Swiss are sending us a new test, the medical ships are beautiful, everything is under control and the country will reopen in 2 weeks.
At least for now, the King has clothes.

The company 3M that makes the masks have done 10 years worth of business in the past month !!!!!! They couldn’t be happier
JJ really missing out on all that money @lgorTudor

Imagine how much they could ask for a JJ mask like the one you have as your avatar.

Knowing JJ, they probably wouldn't work - But hey, eventually you'll get your money back if you open a lawsuit after surviving pneumonia. JJ cares for it's customers after all.
