Regardless of whether they are telling the truth or not, every country in the world should close their borders with China for at least a year. They’ve created this mess, they should pay for it.
That punishment will blow up in everyone’s face. No tech company can build anything in mass scale. Supply chain of a lot of other industries will be impacted too.

Sure if you're ok with not receiving any finished goods for a year, as well as seeing your country improve in general through capital injections from foreign investment spearheaded by China most likely.

We finally making the EU baby!
The correct phrase is "EU baby baby" and sounds something like this:

US numbers are rising so fucking much
I'm investing!

Biggest rise for the Dow Jones since 1933. Markets are going nuts
JP Morgan Chase says it's definitely time to accumulate on American COVID-19 deaths.

I would like to discuss skomething which was on my mind for some time now. When this pandemic started, people were playing it down by saying how the number of deaths was much less than that of the seasonal flu. That statement was always kinda shady to me simply because it was made at a time when the virus wasnt even spread globally. The seasonal flu is literally everywhere in every country in the world, while this Corona virus is only yet starting to spread. USA was hit only recently, and it is a big ass country, Russia is also kinda low in cases ect. We can only compare numbers of the flu vs. Covid19 after Covid19 has spream as much as the regular flu has..... Is there any logic in this?
Yes. It ain't apples to apples unless you let the season run its course.

Prolly got it sodomizing Lady Diana's corpse.

This is fucking great :sergio:
Arizona is where people in the West end up when they can't afford to make it to Florida.

Hey brothers. I too have diabetes. Among other underlying issues. I get scared too. The only good thing about all of this is that I work from home, so aside from going out to get food and supplies, I'm not as exposed to the elements as some others. But the part that really frightens me is that my wife is now working from home as of 2 weeks ago, and my 4 year old has been home for the past couple of weeks, and with me leaving the house several times a week, I'm not doing anyone any favors.

Common sense says that I SHOULDN'T be the one that goes out to do the shopping for things we need, and dropping my son off to his grandparents a few days a week, but I can't bear the thought of putting my wife at risk. If it has to be one of us that gets sick, or worse, then I would much rather it be me.
Hey, long-time Type 1 here myself. I'm telling you, soooooo glad to be under the Portugese socialist health care system that the diamond-crusted Franken-disaster that is American health care. That said, I do have to be more careful than the average person. But the real risk for Type 1s, as I see it, is a chance that your immune system might go gonzo in response to the virus and leave you more prone to pneumonia. But that's a massive if. More of the issue is just the challenge of regulating your blood sugars when you are really sick, which is less worrisome to me.

What infection rates in Iceland and Australia may reveal about how COVID-19 could spread in the US

:xfingers:
At least AccuWeather still deals with the weather. Freaking The Weather Channel now has an IBM partnership to report on virus propagation in a total grab that has nothing to do with the weather whatsoever. It's bad enough when the Weather Channel decided to report alerts on earthquakes. Earthquakes aren't weather, and neither are pandemics. I don't need my weatherman trying to be my pathologist.

So they're calling the US 2020 elections early! Welcome, President Putin!

That’s some Monday morning quarterbacking. To put things in perspective NY has enough ICU beds for ALL MERS confirmed cases since 2012.

It’s one thing you so not forecast a pandemic as bad as this, but it’s entirely a different story when you KNOW it’s coming, you see multiple country get tangled in it before you, and choose to do nothing but stopping a few flights.
As far as prep, it's not about forecast and certain number of beds not even about pandemic. How many beds, etc a city or state needs based on pop density, age of pop, health/diseases, etc is base level research and recommendations. It's turning a blind eye on healthcare at base level.

The number of ICUs or ventilators Cuomo didn't want to pay for is a drop in the ocean compared to what he needs now, for which you need defense production act being invoked and needed the work and implementation of recommendations of the pandemic team. Trump is responsible for both, and yes, it's pathetic finger pointing and shifting of blame/responsibility during an emergency, soon to be crisis.

Crises like this is a God send for politicians already in office who have the tools to solve this, become a hero, and run for re-election or higher office. Cuomo understands this very well. Trump on the other hand...

America has already been hit a number of times by terrorists. To think that they're not prepared for chemical warfare and chemical attacks is naive. If this were a dirty bomb you'd see the army fully suited and ready, politicians would hide in their nuclear bunkers. Trump wants to get ahead in the economy and by sending people to work will give them the upper hand against China and India. For him money is power, others would argue that people are power.

Trump’s approval rating has hit 49% during this pandemic (last Gallup poll), the highest in his time in office. :sergio:
