It was part funny and all till corona, thought one more year of riding out and comedy.

Worst leader you can have under a pandemic. Thought he at least changed tune and realized how serious this is but hasn't.

We're screwed, two weeks behind Italy.

They just cite any random reason if they don't agree on something. Main sticking point is 500m for big businesses without any transparency, all under Mnuchin's discretion (finger should be pointed at Republicans for that). That had to be addressed and fixed.
he is saying we need to open the economy after the 2 weeks are over so let’s see what happens there

Appreciate it. Although I'd rather hear it from somebody living there :D especially when it comes down to behaviour and opinions on it.
I did post about here and a few posts before as well.

I think a good number of people understand the gravity of the situation and have either adhered to social distancing for a few weeks now, or limit their travel outside. Businesses and stores have been taking precautions for the last week or so, like wearing masks and using sanitizer. But there's a particularly dumb group of people, who listen to right-wing bullshit spread on WhatsApp n such, that took this lightly and got out in groups despite our Prime Minister asking us not to do so. They even thought that banging steel plates and utensils against each otherat the same time across the country would produce enough "positive energy" to destroy the Coronavirous. Hopefully they take the lockdown orders seriously.

As for cases, I think we're close to 500 confirmed cases and a handful of deaths, but we've been doing limited testing (only people with travel history and showing some symptoms), so it's difficult to tell if those numbers are accurate. Thankfully, the govt has approved production of locally made testing kits, so hope that helps. I hope that we'll be able to contain this in the next 3 weeks.

:lol2: I love that cure. Cheers.

It's good you took measures "fast". If anything can be fast at this point. Hopefully it didn't manage to spread much.

When you say complete lockdown does that mean only food/pharmacy stores left open?

Oh, their best cure is to drink cow urine and bathe in cow shit, cos it's "holy".

yea, all essential services like food, drugs, etc. will be functional. Everyone else asked to stay home and works from home. Factories will need to use 50% of their workforce and work on alternate days. We should get more details soon.

Not sure accuracy on this but @Bjerknes

https://justthenews.com/politics-po...payer-coronavirus-aid-could-be-spent-overseas

As much as $2.3 billion of the first $8.3 billion in funding falls into the categories of foreign aid, foreign affairs or overseas disease surveillance. Here’s how some of that breaks down:
  • $435 million for the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Global Health Programs.
  • $300 million for “international disaster assistance.”
  • $300 million for global disease detection and emergency response under the Centers for Disease Control
  • $200 million more goes to the State Department Foreign Operations Emergency Reserve Fund ·
  • $264 million for State Department Foreign Affairs for diplomatic response and evacuation over the next two and a half years.
  • $836 million for the U.S. or global response under the National Institutes of Health.
Here are some other major categories where the monies can be spent under the law:
  • $20 million for “salaries and expenses” under the federal Disaster Loans Program ·
  • $60 million for “salaries and expenses” under FDA.
  • $2.2 billion in emergency money for the CDC, on top of its $7 billion dollar annual budget.
  • $950 million for state and local governments.
  • $100 million for local health centers through the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
  • $3.1 billion for the HHS Public Health and Social Services Emergency Fund for four years.
  • $300 million for vaccines and medicine, including money to pharmaceutical companies that will own and sell any new products developed.
  • $300 million for CDC’s Infectious Disease Rapid Response Reserve Fund.
  • $250 million for an “Economic Support Fund.”

Man Fatally Poisons Himself While Self-Medicating for Coronavirus, Doctor Says
An Arizona man and his wife ingested a fish tank cleaning additive made with the same active ingredient as chloroquine phosphate, which President Trump has referred to as a “game changer.”

dr trump at it:

a president governing on twitter never looked like a good idea anyway, but now this imbecile is even killing idiots.

Meaningless ranting as always :sergio:
I disagree. It's not meaningless. It's quite dangerous when a man of his power spread words like that. Like he can kill people by recommending medicine I find this dangerous as well. He's in a position to make people work despite the red signs, people will blindly follow his words. Plenty of his votes would do anything he says. He might lose the next election but he'll get a huge number of votes surely. It's those people that agree with his words and sadly there are plenty of those apparently.
