Iniesta was never by far the motor at Barcelona, especially not in 2010. He was injured for a lot of the 09/10 season and Xavi was far better and more important to the team. Iniesta was the best Spanish player in 2012 and had a stronger case for Ballon d'Or that season, but people say he deserved it in 2010 just based on that one goal without remembering anything else that happened during the year.

2010 Ballon d'or should have been

1. Xavi
2. Sneijder
3. Messi
4. Iniesta

I'll take that with a grain of salt from the guy who suggested Firmino for the Ballon d'or

That's the thing, as soon as messi appeared on the scene he was constantly compared to Diego, but he was always seem as 'soft'. the funny thing is his lashing out at the ref and conmebol endeared and earned him a lot of respect in Argentina
Oh but they love to play the victims when they cheated in both occasions when they won the World Cup. Massive hypocrites.

Messi in 2014 was great for Argentina only against "strong" opposition like Bosnia Iran and Nigeria. When the real tournament began he went AWOL like he usually does in the QF and SF of CL.
Argentina only scored 2 more goals after the group stage against Switzerland ,Belgium, Netherlands and Germany and neither was by Messi.
His dribbling and chances created stats were the highest in the tournament. Im citing it from the Article below, ( I know its sky but theyve sourced it from whoscored).
For me chances created is such an underrated stat, you cant blame a player for being shit if his colleagues dont finish.

Considering how Argentina regularly fail to get out a group stage, I think Messi did something extraordinary to help his team come out of theirs lol.

You are such a small man.
If you want just try and prove what I said is inaccurate. They bribed their way into the 78' final, and well, the "hand of god" is probably the most praised disgusting moment in football history. Two World Cups won by cheating.

Also did you know that in the 1990 WC their massage therapist, while taking care of one of their injured players, was distributing water for everyone and gave a bottle containing sleeping medicine to Brazil's full back Branco, and that made him sick? Then years later the incident was confirmed by the guy himself AND Maradona back when he had his own TV show mocked the shit out it? I bet you didn't.

And that's the problem, you don't seem to know shit about Brazil vs Argentina history in football, so I doubt you'd understand what real rivalry means. So honestly your opinion in this matter doesn't matter to me at all.

R9 wins in terms of pure talent for me. If he had the discipline and luck with injuries that Messi and Ronaldo have had, there probably wouldn't even be a GOAT debate.

Ain't world full of those people who were way more "talented" than others, but they never became anything? In my opinion R9 isn't more talented than CR/Messi, just because talent is way more than that. There's alot of musicians, artists, mathematicians etc who were literally doing all that stuff when they were 2yr old, that's what i call a talent and the talent you're speaking about, is more of a genetics, hard work, mind set etc. R9 had a vision to be a football player, he spent thousands of hours for it, he had great genetics, great pace and he was passionate about it but as being said, he was never meant to have the longest career out there so therefore, he lacks the "talent/genetics" in that longevity area.

CR7 then, He has probably the best genetics out there when it comes to explosiveness, pace, longevity etc. Then he just decided to dedicate his life to the sport of football on top of those genetics, with that almost absurd mindset and he basically trained himself into that beast of a man, with almost areas of his game being close to perfect. Nothing of that would have happened if he never trained and dedicated himself for becoming the absolute best and that there, is talent more than anything.

Messi then, he was never gifted with the best genetics, but i respect him taking out the every bit of that body and becoming probably better than anybody could with the body he has. He's definitely best under 170cm player there has ever been and if not ever, atleast past 20 years.

Usain Bolt is the fastest man on earth, a.k.a the most talented a.k.a the most genetically gifted sprinter in the world. That's talent right there.

So, especially in sports it's way more genetic based than anything else. It's still a sport and your physique plays a big part. There's fast and slow muscle fibers and that pretty much determines what kind of sport you should be playing for. We're lucky that these ball games especially, Football, Tennis etc are more of a technical based sports, with different body types being able to play at the highest level but still, in those sports the absolute best are geneticially the most "talented".

    simple as that.

Being short has its advantages, especially for a wide player or an attacking midfielder/ false 9 like Messi because heading ability and strength aren't crucial. The low center of gravity really helps with dribbling ability. Maradona and Pele were 165 cm and 172 cm respectively.
