No, we need to remind everyone that it was mostly down to Juventus' brilliance than Tottenham choking. The English media, seem to forget that Tottenham came back from 2-0 last leg, so their mentality can't be that weak. Juventus just showed up when it mattered and proved they are a different class.
Spurs are known as chokers here, it took them a million attempts to make the CL. Then they did great in their group, then narrowly lost to us. So yeah it's unfair on them but that is their reputation.

I remember when the commentator on serbian tv said Neuer is playing at the World Cup because Enke is injured.

Enke died 7-8 months before that.

Idiot.

The amount of butthurt and revisionist history from Tottenham fans on reddit and other forums is hilarious. Saying our defenders were brutes the whole series, they had 2 phantom goals disallowed, etc. Never mind the clear penalty we had denied this match. Shit is too funny.
An English version of Napoli,Merda and Roma.

Szczesny trolls Spurs fans
Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny called Tottenham Hotspur “one of the best teams in North London” after last night’s win.
“Great win and celebrations vs one of the best teams in North London. Forza Juve!” Szczesny wrote on Instagram, along with the hashtag “North London is red”.

While it is funny calling Tottenham one of the best in North London its also a bit unprofessional IMO - Also London are not red for a long time now but thats not the point..

Szczesny

Well, congratulations. A case of the 'ends justifying the means’ for Juve.

No point overanalysing this. We’re out. You’re through. We’ll just have to step up that little bit more next year.

Good luck for the rest of the season.

You have an excellent team and made us fans stressed until the end. Probably the best tie of of the round of 16. You guys can be proud of your team, it only lacks a bit of experience

You guys have a very impressive young team, played your hearts out. It was a fascinating 180 minutes to watch. Very fine margins.

I, for one, will be cheering for you to hold onto your stars this summer and win the premier league next season.

Yeah. I keep reading Chiellini and Barzagli should have been sent off, but no mention of Vertonghen who should have been sent off between the penalty foul on Dougie C and multiple others. Nor do a lot of them see that they did not create all that many clearcut chances in the 180, and that 2 of their 3 goals were scored on pretty massive mistakes by Buffon, who usually never makes such errors. While we performed quite poorly, the really good chances were slightly shaded in our favour over the two legs, our CBs were absolute beasts at keeping Spurs to mostly shots from outside the box, bad angles, and contesting and blocking a lot.

But... Spurs fans here have been pretty classy, and their team put in a spirited and impressive performance against us. Kudos to them for that. Fine margins won this tie. It was damn entertaining.

You guys are welcome to stay. Probably one of the few away fans who joined not to troll.

This is a loser/victim mentality. Thankfully these people have little to no influence on the club and you will not hear any of this from our coach or from any of our players. Thankfully our team is still young and will take responsibility for this and focus on getting better.

Anyways, congrats again. Maybe we'll see you next year.

The games with your team almost cost me a heart attack.

I think they were undefeated in 17 or 18 matches coming into last night's match. They were in some pretty damn fine form.

Such an ugly win. Absolutely ashamed of this club to win in such dire circumstances.

On my way back from London. Gotta say it was way too funny enjoying this game amongst 80k Spurs supporters at Wembley. What a game.

We switched from 3-5-2 to 4-2-3-1
Back line was a flat four. CBs were split on each side of the keeper. Clearly we had no sweeper lol. Just in attack we were unbalanced and Barza stayed back. And Benatia was more central. So it was a different formation in attack.

Kane would have not touched the ball if we played a true 3-5-2 where he gets man marked and then there is a sweeper behind and a CDM in front. Instead he won every ball.

You tell the formation from the defensive setup not when you get the ball. When you get the ball the formation will always change completely.
