I don't think that danger will come from Leo directly. Usually when he's heavily marked, he falls down to midfield and tries to organize the attack.
So I don't see him scoring. But then again, if you piss him off, he might "find his way". :)

We shouldnt judge Barca based on their team from two yrs back when allegri got that famous result.
Back then they were less direct than they are now and were more insistent on having more possesion of the ball.
This Barca is way more direct and attack the box and unlike their previous teams, lethal as $#@! on counters. At the same time, they've been able to maintain a stable defense too
Statistically, they've the best defense across the top 5 leagues.
I think that would be Bayern. They conceded 18 comparing to Barca's 21.

No he can't beat 5 Italian players like that.

He can make a fool out of CHiellini, Bonucci, etc. in isolation. Certainly. But he won't make a fool out of 5 Italian players like that and score... Because eventually one of them would have taken the yellow. Simple as that. We don't allow that kind of stuff to continue. Italian defenders are more cynical with stopping that stuff. It was the same thing with Chiello sliding through Ronaldo late in that second game. He never let Ronaldo build up a head of steam and start that last counter.

Aside from this, as Seven says, Italian defences, well, most of the decent to good Italian defences are better organized and don't allow that kind of space to run into.

Messi, if he gets a 1v1 with a defender of ours in a good position, might make a fool of a defender and score, but in Italy, especially against a cup final worthy team, there is absolutely no way he scores that kind of goal by beating 5 players who literally look like clueless morons without any idea of how to defend.
Such bullshit.

I've seen the likes of Cassano, Miccoli and Di Vaio make a fool out of the greatest Italian defenders on weekly basis, why wouldn't Messi be able to do it frequently?

Serie A fans become so delusional sometimes just like how the Premiere league fanatics do.

    People underestimating Messi :sergio:

The guy is a phenomenon, completely unstoppable. Even Nesta in his prime would struggle against him.

We can't stop Messi, if we let him get on the ball he will kill us. There's no point in trying to mark him closely, as he could dribble his way out of a phonebox.

What we have to do is to try and stop him getting it in the first place. Barça's midfield is good, but IMO it's not quite as good as it was between 09-12.

Iniesta is still a fantastic player, but not quite in the beast mode he was then. Rakitic is a very good player, but he's not Xavi. Busquets is good at what he does, but he's not going to create something from nothing.

If we can stop them (and Dani Alves) from getting the ball to Messi, then we have a chance. If Messi gets on the ball consistently, he'll punish us.
    Oh what the shitfuck

Nesta was an exceptionally good defender, but not the greatest CB in history.
He struggled against Ronaldo(bra), and aged 37, he shut down Messi pretty nicely. What the shit about Messi having Nesta struggle ?

Who underestimated Messi? Do you even read? Or you're just trying to sound like a prick?

I said our players are using the wrong approach of talking only about Messi and praising him since couple of days now, it gives him the advantage against us. Ronaldo wasn't talked about that much and I don't see Messi as superior to Ronaldo, Ronaldo TO ME is more unpredictable than Messi. Now am I underestimating Messi here?

I've seen Juve stop Ronaldo brazilian and Zidane, but if some of you wish to kneel down on their knees and drool over then Soap it. Too much pussiness.
    THis. Just fucking this.

I know Barcelona have a freightening good frontline. Just as we are terrifyingly difficult to break down.

If there is any team that has a history of showing up in the big games, and put a leech on the fancy player of the moment, it is Juventus.

Seriously, what the shitfuck about this idolising of Messi. How about we idolise the predictable crushing tackles and workrate this team is gonne shove in his fucking face.

You forgot Del Piero. His goal against Brescia in 2012 :tuttosport:

The main reason why Messi will have difficulties scoring such a goal is because someone will foul him before that. Tactics and discipline also are reasons.

    To all the Barca fans

I think it's fair to say that we all know how strong you are and how great things are going for you in this Messi's era. We see the odds that the bookies give and we know that on paper you must have it easy against us.

The problem is that we are a hungry pack of wolves, we want this trophy so bad and it will mean so much for us. We will do everything that it's possible to get this victory. We'll be nasty, we'll be motivated like never before, we'll be hungrier than you for sure. We'll give you a big fight and only victory is on our minds.

Big part of the world wants you to win. Because you are playing attractive attacking football. Because you have the football superstar in the face of Messi. Because Neymar and Suarez are incredible players too. Because you are the good guys that are using their youth academy really well. Because a great player like Xavi is leaving the club (just like how Zizou was leaving football after 2006 WC final).

We just don't care about that. We don't care that we are from the "weak" Italian league. We don't care that we are the bad guys, who were relegated in 2006. We don't care that the odds are against us, we don't care that the whole world wants and expects us to lose. We want the trophy, that's all that matters. It might be ugly, there might be blood and tears, but the victory is the only thing that matters. You are ready to play, but we are ready to fight.

I hate that guy too, but trust me, I watch La Liga. Nothing is worse than Neymar and especially Alba. They are even worse than Icardi ffs. Disgusting players. You'll all see why on Saturday.

Neymar, Suarez and Alba are all dicksticks. Neymar especially. He represents the youth of today. Completely full of himself and a pussy as well. Watch what'll happen when bonucci breathes on him. Even Messi has been influenced by him to a degree with the new tattoos and haircut.

It's sad cuz I respect Iniesta and Xavi a lot. Even Puyol back in the day. The rest can get fucked.

    So...

    Messi 50 games - 58 goals - 23 assists

    shits all over:

    Ronaldo 47 games - 59 goals - 19 assists

    :shifty:

This argument is so stupid. The difference between them is slim to none this year, in terms of tangible results. Ronaldo also doesn't play with Neymar and Suarez who are both top 5 attackers in the world. He plays with Bale and Benzema up front who are nowhere near top 5 attackers in the world.

Messi is better than Ronaldo, but the difference is microscopic. Saying he shits all over Ronaldo is just ridiculous.
Goals & assist don't tell the whole story, Ronaldo's impact on the game has been minimal this season besides the goals. I mean this sounds crazy, because of course that makes him one of the best poachers & goalscorers of all time and it sounds as if I'm slagging him off, but he's simply not on Messi's level. And in my opinion, he hasn't been for years bar in times where Messi was injured.

    - - - Updated - - -

Even if Messi's better the difference is so small it's hardly there. Surely if we manage to somewhat contain Ronaldo, we should be able to somewhat contain Messi. Especially because I think we're better adapted to cope with Messi.
Yeah, but Madrid had a very mediocre Bale and 60 minutes of an injured Benzema besides Ronaldo.

    Barca has Neymar and Suarez.

Of course we can still do it if we play our A-game (and I'm convinced of this), but it will be significantly more difficult than containing Ronaldo.

Yes. Ronaldo disappears in big games, you guys should know that, he was invisible in both matches against Juve. He just depends too much on his teammates and if the ball supply isn't there, so is Ronaldo, invisible.
That has happened many times this season. He's a great poacher, nothing more.
Messi, beside being great dribbler and deadly finisher, has great vision and superb passes. So, he's in fact, more complete. Refer to game against City. Didn't score, but he was everywhere.

Juve should just make best of it's chances. Barca tends to fuck up many of them and from time to time we also tend to make huge mistakes in defense. We also used to suck badly against set pieces. Now we are getting better, but still can be outclassed by any "stronger" team. If Juve will play its best....chances are equal. Inter did it in 2010, so can Juventus.
I'm all against that "favorite" shit. Play with heart, it's been a great season for both teams.

they score goals, alot of goals. but they arent great players at all.people makes them look like superstars. At this point, they barely can help to their NT and their fans adore them and compare both of them to each other because they are barca and real players . bullshit! people who dont understand you.
