wingers i d easily take ahead of bale:

Vargas, krasic, Silva, Ribery, Robben, Malouda
Robben's hurt and I haven't watched Ribery at all this year. I don't think Silva is as good as Bale and Vargas definitely isn't. I can accept Krasic and Malouda though. I don't have a problem with anyone saying Bale isn't the best, it's just when they compare him to players like Ronaldo and Messi who clearly play a different position.

If Andy hadn't watched the game on Sky Sports I guarantee he wouldn't be saying this stuff.
That's seriously bad for his health :D
Until I actually followed a European match with English commentary, I couldn't understand at all why those who do hate EPL and everything about it so much.

Andy, learn a foreign language and solve this problem :p

but really whats a winger? an AM who plays in 442 variant? is dani alves a winger? do you have to be fast to be a winger? but like you said its a matter of opinion and regardless how ribery and robben play this year i would take either of them in a heartbeat, and vargas' success in serie A automatically puts him ahead imo bale is a good player but far from being anywhere near the best of anything

In a 4-4-2 Bale is fantastic. Only thing I don't like is that he seem to have no understanding at all. He is just a train running down the flank, when he get's the ball. But what i've seen against Inter is fantastic.

The Messi comparison is silly, but I think it is legitimate to include Ronaldo in a list of players who do/have done well playing wide in a 4-4-2.

    Andy Gray should be killed.

Played for Rangers and Dundee Utd and is an Anglophile cunt.

He literally has no redeeming features.

I am always (which means, not at all surprised) when folks are shocked and horrified at home favouritism and hyperbole, especially Americans, who seem to be at the hyperbolic centre of the universe.

    Vargas? You're freaking kidding.

    Malouda? No way.

    Silva? Wasted on the wing.

    EPL hate is really overwhelming.
Malouda has been awesome for the last couple of years.

He also, in case you haven't noticed, plays in England, so how is hatred of the EPL a factor?

    Fair enough.

Absolutely. I said it already, Ronaldo was the best winger around when he played in a 4-4-2 for Man Utd, but he doesn't play there anymore so I'm not including him.
