I would argue Modric was every bit as important as Bale.

Modric made the first goal and was generally in control of midfield, giving Bale plenty of balls and giving him the ball early enough that Inter weren't in a position to get tight to Modric.

On the other had, Inter forwards were always tightly marked when they got the ball, because Muntari and Zanetti couldn't get the ball forward to them quickly.
He had a very good game with the first assist being absolutely sublime. This was one of his better games this year, I hope he builds on it as his form this year was not on last year's level. He's still one that makes them tick in the middfle but he needs to step it up a little.

Even if Messi and CRonaldo played as strikers, there are still better wingers than Bale who have been doing their job for years. But I guess if all the CB's better than Legro are out with injury at the same time, Legro is still the best CB around.

What a fucking joke that is.

Wingers, forwards, I don't give a shit. Fact is Bale is a player who makes football look ridiculous with his performances and if someone can't see that he's a fucking idiot.

How good a player is Bale?

Try to let your hatred of all things English (even-that's how to use the word even- the Welsh) destroy your objectivity.

Yes Messi did. If you are deployed out left in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1, and your name is Ronaldo, someone who takes the ball down the left flank as he does currently, he's a winger. He isn't given a free role up top or a striker's or withdrawn striker's role, he's given the spot out left.

He's a winger. Cut out the fanboyism. I even hate Ronaldo.
Then we have different definitions of what a real winger is. End of story. I never claimed that Bale was a superior player to Ronaldo or Messi. He is not, but personally I think they have completely different roles on the pitch. Basically you're saying if you play wide you're a winger, but then if you play in a central midfield area you must be a centre midfielder. Everyone knows, yourself included, that there are more specific roles than that; holding midfielder, attacking midfielder, etc.

Modric and van der Vaart are creating an excellent understanding, Modric paints the canvas and then VDV add the details.
VDV has always been class. Why we didn't take advantage of his situation at Real I will never know.

Sure maybe he doesn't fit Del Neri's system but he could have replaced Diego's presence up front.

His radius of movement is just....wow. It's like having a man more on the pitch.

He's just being vain, let it go. Everyone knows true wingers score +30 goals a season.

Even when they've played there several times, and still do NOW?

Cut the bullshit, you're wrong here, even if Ronaldo and Messi are fucking GOALKEEPERS.
I'm done. Your American ignorance is overwhelming right now. I'm gonna go smoke a joint. Peace bro.

If Andy hadn't watched the game on Sky Sports I guarantee he wouldn't be saying this stuff, it's just provoked him epically.

And his view of the game is out of this world. I just don't get why he went so shit with shooting since joining EPL. He was never an expert in it, but he used to score some great goals before.
