"Throughout June and July, I strongly urged Inter to sell Maicon to Real Madrid. I repeated these statements following the Brazilian’s disappointing performance in the Derby d’Italia draw with Juventus where he made no mark against the modest Paolo De Ceglie and Zdenek Grygera."

Carlo Garganese makes it sound like he's some factor

Malouda has been awesome for the last couple of years.

He also, in case you haven't noticed, plays in England, so how is hatred of the EPL a factor?
I like Malouda. I'd take him over Vargas in a hearbeat. But I've never seen Malouda play the way Bale played last year, not to mention this year.

That comment was purely because of Vargas. I never got this reasoning some have that players who play in Serie A are by default superior by at least 30%. Vargas is a good player, but he's no world beater, never was.

Aye, Malouda is far more about technique and can work in small spaces, but he's not going to blow a team away with his pace.

Vargas is almost a Serie A equivalent of Bale; more technically gifted, but not as athletic.

I like Vargas, but I would struggle to pick between him and Bale as to who I'd choose for Juve's left wing.

But to be fair. He has shown more on the international scene, than Bale

How good a player is Bale?

Try to let your hatred of all things English (even-that's how to use the word even- the Welsh) destroy your objectivity.
He's a very good player, but not the best winger in the world. It's a joke he's being considered as such, not surprising considering those who claim he is. It doesn't take avid fan to see this is exaggeration.

Then we have different definitions of what a real winger is. End of story. I never claimed that Bale was a superior player to Ronaldo or Messi. He is not, but personally I think they have completely different roles on the pitch. Basically you're saying if you play wide you're a winger, but then if you play in a central midfield area you must be a centre midfielder. Everyone knows, yourself included, that there are more specific roles than that; holding midfielder, attacking midfielder, etc.
But what you're saying is that since Ronaldo and Messi don't play as wingers in a straight 4-4-2 system, they aren't wingers. Or if they play further up the pitch in a 4-3-3, they aren't wingers, but forwards. I've seen countless matches where the two best players in the world hug the touchline in those systems. How can you not say they're wingers but forwards? Just because they don't come back to defend at all times? It doesn't make any sense.

Bale is good, not the best, but he does come back to defend so I think that is where folks are getting confused.

He's just being vain, let it go. Everyone knows true wingers score +30 goals a season.
That's a rather dumb argument. Gerrard scored over 20 goals one season for Pool. Guess he's a forward now!

I'm done. Your American ignorance is overwhelming right now. I'm gonna go smoke a joint. Peace bro.
Then get the hell out of my country. :p

If Andy hadn't watched the game on Sky Sports I guarantee he wouldn't be saying this stuff, it's just provoked him epically.
I wouldn't be saying Bale isn't the best winger in the world. Why? Because it simply isn't true.

    Vargas? You're freaking kidding.

    Malouda? No way.

    Silva? Wasted on the wing.

    EPL hate is really overwhelming.
And so is your Spurs bullshit.

Bale'd do alright in Serie A. Especially in a 4-4-2. He's a good player, whether he's the masterclass winger he's been made to be in the last few pages is up for debate. He can be and has been mediocre to poor at times. With his age, he will only get better unless he gets injured.

I like him, good for the Welsh I say.

never said he wasnt a good player i was arguing the whole best in the business argument, and why take a risk on a player who might or might not adjust to a different league when theres already a successful one at hand is what i am saying
